What a race for the Canadian men 4 x 100 🥇 In the outside lane and no one thought they had a chance, esp after challenging individual races for DeGrasse. What a warrior. That’s how you show up! 🇨🇦 #Olympics#Paris2024
His tire popped off his bike from the bump. He was in complete shock lying in the middle of the road. Several of us rushed over to help him and called 911. We think he’ll be okay; lots of scrapes, bruises and maybe a sprained wrist.
Just witnessed a guy wipe out hard on his bike — he hit a huge bump (due to uneven asphalt) at Nassau & River where there’s construction. Thankfully he was wearing a helmet. Can we please get signage to indicate the uneven road?? @cityofwinnipeg#Winnipeg
Paul Maurice: class act. The #NHLJets comment plus mentioning his dad’s name joining his heroes on the Cup? Most wholesome speech ever. Good man and still the most entertaining guy in the league. Congrats, coach Maurice! #StanleyCup
Heartbreaking news. Dutchy will always be a giant of this industry. A legendary broadcaster and a national treasure. Hard to think of TSN without him… 🩶
The academy, which aims to bring more diversity into the world of DJing, teaches students the skills it takes to become a professional DJ, including the basics of scratching, beat-matching songs, stage presence and the history of DJing.
My latest @WinnipegNews column aims to challenge gender norms at the turntables. In a space historically dominated by men, a local workshop is empowering underrepresented genders to redefine the DJ scene — learn how it's shaking up the status quo https://t.co/FoCeNEHH8G #Winnipeg
Established in 2012, Mama Cutsworth’s DJ Academy (rebranded Mama Cutsworth’s DJ Academy for Underrepresented Genders), offers a hands-on workshop for adults whose genders are traditionally overlooked in the DJ realm, incl cis or trans women, two-spirit and non-binary individuals
Huge congrats to @UAsagwara, newly appointed minister of health, seniors and long term care as well as deputy premier. Well deserved #Winnipeg#mbpoli#cdnpoli
In the end, friendships are one of the few relationships that we choose. They can outlast our romantic relationships and be just as intimate. And they can take on the role of family — even if our own falls short.
In today’s @WinnipegNews, my story about the importance of making friends as an adult — and how these connections are an essential part of our social and emotional wellness #Winnipeg https://t.co/78kocPktLb
As an adult, you’re not conveniently thrown into kindergarten-like situations where meeting ppl is natural. Timing is a huge factor, too. Research suggests it takes 50 hrs to build a casual friendship, 90 hrs to become real friends and 200 hrs to consider someone a close friend.
As humans, our bodies — and perhaps more importantly, our minds — crave the comfort that #routine offers. Routines require little conscious thought and allow you to carve out time to pursue your passion every day.
Stacey Bazak is featured in my latest @WinnipegNews column. Her milestone birthday inspired her to lead a more active lifestyle. Running has become part of her routine — bonus: she's won multiple racing medals and lost 100 pounds in the process https://t.co/mxkB6LjOCi #Winnipeg
