This recognition reflects the power of partnership. By working together, we're connecting students and families to essential resources and ensuring every child has the support they need to learn, grow and thrive.
We were honored to accept a Most Valued Partner plaque from @SanJuanUnified! Renée and Melissa, who lead our Diaper and No Student Left Hungry programs, proudly accepted the award on behalf of our team.

Earlier this month, country music star Luke Bryan brought 20,000 fans together in Elk Grove for his Farm Tour. Thanks to the generosity of concertgoers, we collected 1,172 pounds of food and raised enough funds to provide 1,701 meals for our neighbors.

At 19 years old, Fardin is balancing college, family responsibilities and a future in design technology. Yet every two weeks, he still finds time to pick up food at our Highlands High School distribution site to help support his family of six.
“My focus is family first. They're very important to me,” he says.
The food they receive helps stretch the family budget and provides the nourishment Fardin needs to stay focused on his studies and fuel his future.
As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we're looking back at the people, milestones and moments that shaped our journey and helped us become the organization we are today.
50 years of neighbors helping neighbors.
What started in 1976 as a small effort to fight hunger has grown into a countywide network of support for hundreds of thousands of neighbors struggling with hunger.
Earlier this week, our team joined anti-hunger leaders from across California at the @CAFoodBanks Food ACCESS Conference. We’re proud of Karen Strach & Eric Spring for leading a workshop on building sustainable food distribution programs in underserved communities.
When organizations come together to share knowledge, exchange best practices and learn from one another, we all become stronger. And so does the fight against hunger.
April was another historic month for our network, with need rising 4% from March and 3% from April 2025. It was the second-largest month in our 50-year history, exceeded only by October 2025 during the shutdown.
This work is only possible because of our community's support and our network of 112 dedicated partners. Together, we're continuing to meet the growing need across Sacramento County.
