Seneca MS students raised $6,695 for MakeAWish during May! From selling candy to hosting auctions, the whole school rallied to support kids with critical illnesses. A powerful show of compassion, teamwork & community spirit! 🌟
On May 30, 8th grade musicians from Seneca & Sagamore MS earned top honors at Trills & Thrills and Music in the Parks festivals. Highlights include multiple Superior ratings, 1st place wins & Outstanding Soloist awards. 🎶🏆
Assistant Principal John Cariddi has been named the 2024-2025 Council of Administrators and Supervisors (CAS) Administrator of the Year. Recognized by the Board of Education, Cariddi joins an elite group of educational leaders honored for their outstanding service and impact.
Seneca students came together in an inspiring show of support for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, shaving their heads to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. The event raised over $7,000 and was a powerful display of community, compassion and courage.
Seneca recently held a fun and charitable St. Baldrick’s Pajama Breakfast, bringing students together for a great cause. Dressed in cozy pajamas, students enjoyed a delicious breakfast featuring a variety of cereals, bagels and juice while spending time with friends.
Students at Seneca had a special opportunity to delve into the world of writing through a virtual author visit with Beth Anderson. Organized by teacher librarian Amelia Estevez Creedon, this engaging session allowed sixth grade students to explore the creative process.
Congratulations to Assistant Principal, John Cariddi, on being named the 2024-2025 Long Island CAS Administrator of the Year! Mr. Cariddi will be recognized at a ceremony in April at their Delegate’s meeting. We appreciate all that you do! 🎉 👏
Seneca raised more than $1,300 to be donated to Paws of War, an organization that places service and support dogs with US veterans. The building held a home run derby fundraiser, & the winners of the derby presented the check to organization representatives & service dog, Hero.🐾
📖📚Seneca MS students who participated in the summer reading program were treated to a bagel breakfast and visit from author Antoinette Truglio Martin. The program is an initiative between Seneca and the Sachem Public Library to encourage reading while school is out of session.
6th graders at Seneca were treated to stories & songs from Latin America during a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. Musician & storyteller Felix Pitre celebrated Latin culture with stories, songs & dance, & introduced instruments from different Latin American countries.
Sixth grade classes at Seneca have been working with librarian Ms. Estevez Creedon on the writing process. Throughout these lessons, students planned, wrote, illustrated and published their vown children's picture books. They presented their stories to a group of preschoolers!📖
Students at Seneca were overjoyed by the birth of their bobwhite quails. Some students change the water, while others add food, or change the bedding of the animals. Science classes are discussing conservation, relationships and balance in ecosystems, life cycles, & biodiversity.
Sachem is helping the fight against pediatric cancer by supporting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Several school buildings came together for head-shaving events to raise funds for childhood cancer research, as well as awareness. Check out some highlights!☘️⤵️
