Sacred Cod is a film about the historic collapse of America's oldest fishery, and the fight for its future. Selected for 2016 @CamdenIFF, @GlobeDocs, @Discovery
Worth listening to for an update on the conflict between the lobster industry and the conservation community to protect North Atlantic right whales.

Ocean warming is one of the clearest signals of climate change. The cold eye in the North Atlantic reflects shifts in the global circulation caused by Arctic melting and is also a key indicator of climate change. #climatematters#WorldOceansDay
North Atlantic right whales are among the world's most endangered species. To celebrate World Ocean Day and learn more about efforts to save them from extinction, watch @Entangled_Film at https://t.co/WmZ0EQrDI7.
Excited to learn that our new @Entangled_Film just won Best Feature Film at the International Wildlife Film Festival, which @IntlWldFilmFest projected on a building last night in downtown Missoula, Mont. Watch the film here: https://t.co/eRl0tUtBxE

Sad news on the #rightwhale front: Just learned that the first calf known to be born this breeding season has been found dead on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It's unclear how it died, but it appears to have just been born.
The 2020 stock assessment of lobster found a record high abundance in the Gulf of Maine and on Georges Bank and record low abundance in the southern New England, which is significantly depleted with poor prospects of recovery. https://t.co/f0M3Kyif2j
This newly surfaced video from several years ago appears to show rare footage of New England lobster gear entangling and killing an endangered North Atlantic #rightwhale off the coast of Florida.

With the discovery of another entangled North Atlantic #rightwhale, there are now 11 of the critically endangered species with serious injuries, or considered "dead whales swimming." That would make 10 percent of the species either dead or near death.

Unfortunately, @NOAAFisheries has confirmed that a right whale has been observed entangled off the coast of New Jersey. The whale "is in extremely poor condition, with large lesions on its body." Also: "The whale has two visible lines partially embedded around its head."
I'm very excited to announce that our new film about critically endangered whales, @Entangled_Film, just won @JacksonWild, considered the Oscars of nature films.
NOAA will update the status of the North Atlantic Right Whale Draft biological opinion and upcoming rulemaking
