This shame-shame over expletives in protests was started by Bhagwat and is being cleverly peddled by others.

It is an attempt at regaining the masquerade of being moral good faith actors.

The response is not to be apologetic about it or do a - yes but young people/protests, yes line crossed but.

The elite- on all sides are not the final arbiters of what moral language is.

The only response to this shaming is- oh fuck off.

Dear @Cockroachisback, @SauravDassss, @abhijeet_dipke, @whattalawyer and @AshutoshRanka,

There are two things happening here.

1. CJP is claiming (screenshot 3) that you are all in touch with Junaid, that everything being said about him is false, and that he is receiving legal assistance and being taken care of.

2. But every video of Junaid that surfaces (Videos 1 and 2, attached) tells a different story. In his own words, Junaid is in tears, talking about being abandoned.

These two accounts are poles apart. One of them is not true. And we want to be fair to you.

So the simplest thing to do is to post a video with Junaid in which he says what you are trying to say. Let him speak for himself rather than have others speak for him. His crying videos are breaking our hearts. Please stand beside him and record a short video.

The whole country is watching with bated breath, and we expect better from you.

This is not the time to blame anyone. It's possible you are doing everything you can. It's possible there has been a miscommunication. But this needs to be handled sensitively and with humanity.

One of the best things Rahul Gandhi did during this movement was bring Neha in front of the cameras and give her the space she deserved.

Neha had been on a hunger strike for 22 days, yet Abhijeet Dipke never even allowed her onto the stage. Rahul Gandhi, without hesitation, brought her forward and stood beside her before the entire nation.

It didn't matter to him that Neha belonged to the left student organization . He gave full credit to the students who led the movement. That's the mark of a true leader , someone secure enough to share the spotlight instead of claiming all the credit.

I feel one thing that is different in GenZ from the older generations is that they don't care for obedience. I saw so many reels in the last few days where the kids were challenging their parents, calling them out, making fun of them for being a supporter of the establishment. I saw reels of kids coming to the protest despite their parents asking them not to, some even took flights to come all the way to Delhi.

I have long felt that one of the greatest impediment of our generation is the constant idolising of parents, and then forever in life, we are looking for some idols, whether it is in a god or a politician or a religious baba. And thereafter, we live a life of followers, and followers can't be rebels.

Hello @GitanjaliAngmo, do you and @Wangchuk66 own this movement that you feel that you can dictate how this movement should go forward? There were many other students who were also fasting at the same time, do you hear them talking in the same tone, as if they own the movement?

And what does it mean by don't politicise? Are political parties of this country not part of the democratic space of this country? @Wangchuk66 is quite happy to deal with BJP and their leaders, and break his fast in their presence. So, then which political parties are you talking about which shouldn't 'politicise'? Are you saying that the opposition parties should not participate in this moment?

And since when are ideologies not important? Did Gandhi not have an ideology? Did Nehru not have an ideology? Did Bhagat Singh not have an ideology? When BJP and its supporters are declaring the students who are protesting to be anti-national, is that not the output of an ideology? Are the textbooks that are being changed across the state not an output of an ideology? Are the RSS people who are being placed in every university and dictating how the universities should run not the output of an ideology? If you're saying that you care for the students, then you should also know that what the students are going through today is because of an ideology that has taken over the country.

In fact, the most central aspect of what is happening in India today, is a fight of ideologies.
