- R4 billion diverted from Joburg Water (revealed 2025): The City of Johannesburg swept R4 billion (approved for water infrastructure) to cover other municipal expenses, in violation of the Municipal Finance Management Act. AG confirmed it's an "IOU" on paper but not available cash, causing payment delays to contractors and worsening pipe bursts (up from ~20,700 to 33,400+).
@eNCA Water experts have been warning about South Africa's looming national water crisis—including the infrastructure failures now hitting Gauteng hard—for over 20 years , with successive ANC-led governments failing to act on the science despite clear predictions of deficits by 2025.
@HermanMashaba@CilliersB@CityTshwane@HermanMashaba it’s sad 😔 that you wake up every day struggling to be relevant and then think up the biggest load of 💩 to say to try and be noticed. Empty vessel makes the most noise I’m told 😂
@MbalulaFikile Ais far as I can see the firing of the minister is NOT the issue but rather (a) president ignoring a request for permission (b) inconsistent application of the laws. If there was consent application of the laws half the ANC ministers and deputy ministers would not be employed
