@ivansbootyplug@sowola_ He’s a very ends-justify-the-means kinda guy but unfortunately the ‘end’ (aka killing the demon) just kept moving further away, leading his sustained abusive parenting style. John, tragic as usual
i hate when john is written as some run of the mill, doesn't care about his kids, abusive dad. like, no. he cares a lot actually. he loves them so much but he's so obssessed w his mission, w his revenge he loses sight of them. he's fucked them up unbelievable w his negligence and
Will never get over spn dropping Sam’s powers. A big part of why Sam felt so diminished and like a secondary character in the latter half of the show is that they removed the One Big part of his characterization (boy with the demon blood, psychic) and replaced it with nothing
just saw obsession. it must have been so fun to play nikki. also beautiful portrayal of the inherent evils living within meek nice guy men who see women as nothing more than vessels for their own validation and think they’re too woke for misogyny cuz they say sorry a lot.
people saying the sexual assault in obsession isn’t assault when we get the dinner scene as indication that bear realizes nikki is with him because of the wish and it immediately hard cuts to him and her together in bed with her face in pain… very revealing
One infuriating thing about Obsession is no one actually ever hurts Bear physically. The entire movie he's freaking out and getting covered in other people's blood and all the women around him get beaten senseless but this spineless little worm gets to go out on his own terms.
