Enough is enough. Time to say it as it is. @univofstandrews - you should be ashamed of yourself. Forcing staff and students to go to work against clear @scotgov guidelines and then victim-blaming staff for expressing anxieties is not ok.
Making the anxieties about Covid19 out to be the problem here is disgraceful when @univofstandrews is continuing to coerce staff and students into contravening @scotgov guidelines. This. Will. Not. End. Well.
Governments of UK and Scotland both clearly announce that those who can work from home, should work from home. @univofstandrews decides that there is nothing at all that needs to change about its plans to phase-in in person teaching next week.
4 students @univofstandrews infected with #Covid_19 at university events, 40 students additionally isolating as a result, but this does not constitute an outbreak, and we are full steam ahead with plans for in-person teaching.
Only this week @ucustandrews wrote to the university outlining its concerns over face to face teaching. Now @univofstandrews principal announces a voluntary lockdown. #covid19 University of St Andrews news https://t.co/mdiyZjR9QG
.@nuigalway should not be allowed to demand that PG students undertake unpaid teaching. Sign this petition to persuade them to do the right thing.

I’ve called upon @BorisJohnson & uni leaders to scrap plans to reopen campuses in order to prevent a huge public health crisis. The migration of over a 1mn students across the UK risks doing untold damage to people’s health & exacerbating the worst health crisis of our lifetimes.
@1025Clyde1@garry__spence@stevenmill@jasonleitch What does he think about @univofstandrews pressurising staff/students to return to in-person teaching against @scotgov advice, asking 9000+ students to move to a small Fife town, and referring staff with concerns about #COVIDー19 to CBT because anxiety is seen as the problem?
Why is teaching expected to be online @ucl but @univofstandrews in-person is the default? Follow the lead of many other institutions and prove that you care not just about £££ but also about your staff, students, and local communities.
@ScotGovFM in response to a question from @markruskell - "I don’t think staff in any sector should be put under pressure to do things that we are not advising” @univofstandrews how do you reconcile this with your position that staff are expected to teach in-person as default?
@ScotGovFM in response to Q from @markruskell confirms that the point of "blended learning [is] to reduce numbers on campus” @univofstandrews how exactly does dual-delivery achieve reduced numbers on campus?
@markruskell is asking @ScotGovFM a question about @univofstandrews plans for in-person teaching, now, at FMQ. Watch here: https://t.co/1BufunXXdG and listen out for Q8.
