@LotusOfGod A thick skull like yours won’t understand this, but there is no such thing as a perfect zero-impact solution. Real engineering is about reducing harm, balancing trade-offs, and keeping society running—not pretending laugh emojis count as a solution.
@LotusOfGod Moral outrage is easy. Understanding engineering trade-offs is harder. Protecting life requires reliable infrastructure too, not slogans pretending physics doesn’t exist.
@LotusOfGod Money doesn’t remove physics or efficiency loss. Desalination adds energy use, brine disposal, corrosion-resistant systems, permits, and maintenance. Data centers need cooling that’s reliable, scalable, and efficient—not just expensive.
@LotusOfGod@JustinLaud5yrx Desalination exists, but it’s expensive and energy-intensive. Raw seawater can’t go straight into a regular cooling tower because of salt corrosion and scaling. Ocean cooling is possible, but it needs special systems and still has environmental/maintenance issues.
