Lest we forget, Imran Khan continues to be held in a 6x8 prison cell for 3+ years now.
Most of us here wouldn't survive 3 months in a seven-star resort, disconnected and isolated from the world, family, and human contact. And yet, just because he is braving prison with grace, his suffering and pain have been normalized.
And those who raised their voices for his release, his sisters, and cousins have also been abducted and imprisoned.
Our future generations will look back in history and wonder in horror how any of this was even allowed.
This is Kp / FATA 1962 when Mrs Kennedy visited Pakistan.
Pakistan was such a beautiful normal tolerant society then.
Plus terrorism , no guns. No fear of anything till we decided to become front line state post soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Everything just went wrong after that
The Pakistani middle class is not shrinking. It is being erased.Daily petrol hike. Daily diesel hike. We are being executed in public and told it is economics.Fill the tank or feed the children. Pay the school or keep the lights on. Choose which part of your life dies first. The government will not stop until the word “middle class” only exists as a notion.
Here we go again: yet another scandal, this time a daylight robbery, so soon after the PIMS tragedy, Sugar Mafia, HEC outrage on Afghan students, another Ponzi Scheme has come to light, actually, the ‘Mother of All Scams’ costing BILLIONS of DOLLARS: all these reflecting an Unholy Alliance, in fact, the TERRIBLE TROIKA of Politicians, Bureaucrats & Vested Interests/Lobbies! System failure is in Islamabad: failed policies, flawed mindsets! The answer lies NOT in blaming provinces or creating new provinces, but Reversing Wrongs where these emanate from: ISLAMABAD! At the very least, LIST of recipients of these $ 5.6 billion freebies to friends MUST be made Public!
Matthew Hayden said, "I really enjoyed my time working with Pakistan. Nothing’s changed, though. You know, that’s always the trouble. Cricketers have pressure, and coaches have pressure. That’s not an environment. A pressure cooker is an environment for the middle, not for all the other peripheral things that happen outside.
We also say that Pakistan are always dark horses because their natural talent is phenomenal. Anyone who can see athletic ability can see that Pakistan have an abundance of it. The trouble is that it never gets focused because it’s never allowed to get focused. It’s always in chaos. They’re always standing on one toe, let alone two feet. So there’s no grounding, and that’s something I enjoyed doing in the short time that I was with Pakistan: getting things back on an even keel and making things less frantic.
Pakistan are like the West Indies, who I especially mentioned. I would mention Pakistan as well because you’ve got 350 million people in one country who adore cricket, yet every opportunity cricket doesn’t allow cricket to get played.
If you allow Pakistan and Pakistan allows Pakistan to just play freely and with trust, then they’ll take on anyone. It’s as simple as that because, purely in terms of athletic ability, like the West Indies, they are supreme." (Wisden)
Shockingly chauvinistic statement, highly Divisive & Derogatory, smacks of Ignorance & Arrogance, when hard fact is that people of ‘neighbouring province’, Khyber Pakhtunkwa, are BIGGEST VICTIMS of TERRORISM, while ‘neighbouring country’, India, is conveniently exonerated!
It took less than a week for the entire government, media, and social media to forget about PIMS and move on to other “important” things.
Forget state collapse, what we are witnessing is something far more dangerous: desensitization to a point of moral and intellectual collapse.
This is the lowest of the lowest it gets.
Floods. Fires. Blasts. Target killings. Corruption. Inflation. Poverty. Bribery. Theft. Robbery. Load shedding. Gas shortages. Unsafe drinking water. Adulterated food. Poor quality fuel. Broken healthcare. Failing education. Dysfunctional railways. Weak airlines. Terrible public transport. Broken roads. Filthy streets.
This is what the average Pakistani is forced to survive every single day.
There is more outrage over the collapse of the cricket team than over the collapse of the entire country.
What kind of desensitization makes us believe that cricket can somehow thrive while the country around it is collapsing?
It’s not the payers fault.
It’s the constant rollercoaster the board is putting them through. Constantly changing domestic structures and schedules. Random irrelevant camps, captain carousels.
Low quality domestic cricket.
No transparency.
No consistency.
Results predictable.
Absolutely ridiculous decisions by the PCB-this is the reason they are in the mess they are because they constantly chop and change players, coaches and selectors and there in no stability!
Planning,stability and structure =Consistent performance!!
Pakistanis are eating less and they are eating worse because they can no longer afford as much food. Data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) shows that over the past six years people across the urban and rural divide are consuming less food across all categories.
That means families are cutting back on the size of their rotis, the number of times meat is cooked in a month, how much milk is being given to their children, and even how many cups of tea they are drinking in a day.
The social indicators are staggering. The percentage of households categorised as “moderate to severely food insecure” in Pakistan has gone from 15.92 percent in 2019 to 24.35 percent in 2025. Severe food insecurity has also gone from 2.37% of households to 5.04% of households in the past six years. That means more than a quarter of Pakistani households face some form of hunger and malnutrition.
None of this is because we don’t have enough food. Pakistan grows its own wheat and rice. We are some of the largest producers of poultry, eggs, and milk and we even have a modest but growing meat export sector. The problem is affordability.

Girls raped and killed every week, a professor hanged his wife, wafflix founder murdered in cold blood, and infants burned alive in PIMS hosp. nursery, all with zero accountability
In Pakistan, there is no guarantee of life. not for women or for men, not even for newborn babies.
Sickening to see the govt's blatant violation of SC's orders regarding shifting IK to Shifa hospital. Another opportunity at healing & reconciliation is being wasted by incompetent & petty individuals. A country of 250 million ppl deserves better than the clowns imposed upon us.
shameful how a former PM is being denied medical treatment even after a court has ordered it. Even more shameful, that leaders of both parties PMLN and PPP have spent the better part of their convictions in private hospitals, domestic and foreign.
Yet most shameful has been Law Minister announcing on national television that “authorities” have decided that SC order is outside “legal parameters”.
as hybrid defense minister loves to say:
کوئی شرم، کوئی حیا، کوئی گریس ہوتی ہے
It’s a travesty what happened to and continues to happen to Imran Khan. It’s been gross to watch people who had every complaint about him applaud the military regime and stay quiet on what has been happening since he was removed from power and his supporters were violently repressed by the state. The way he has been treated is another stain on a country riddled with stains.
