Key points from the panel chat on football & pregnancy at the #UEFA medical conference:
Communication key!
12wk WHO recommendation for contact play limit based on 50's study on monkeys (!!!); individualisation and athlete health should dictate.
Interesting idea to grade video clips as high risk in certain situations depending on if player was prepared/expecting contact; in addition to video signs e.g. unprepar d landing, fencer response etc.
Male players received more medical attention (need vs. Availability?)
Female players more people to injury from ball contact (relevance of cervical factors)
Vast majority of injuries due to contact with another player
Prevention way to go, but needs to be actionable!
Don't forget your clinical governance!!
Something is better than nothing; start a culture and improve it over time.
Screening bloods useful to pick up renal issues from NSAIDs
@seancarmody1 lifting the important issue of NSAID use in football.

Comprehensive list of NSAIDs, variation depending on local routines
Ibuprofen 600mg most effective for pain relief
Prescribing informed by local culture, resources, level of competition
'Keeping SCORE' approach can be a good framework to standardise practices in your setting
