Despite a rise in female labour force participation rate at 22.7 per cent in #Pakistan it is still the lowest in #SouthAsia not because women work less or not harder but because large parts of women’s work in care economy, including domestic work, remains undocumented, informal and even unrecognized. In the Gender mainstreaming committee in the #NationalAssembly we took a close look at potential of care economy of Pakistan which can contribute to overseas employment and remittances as well that only stands at 1 per cent presently. We learnt that Government of Pakistan has no policy on care economy at any level.
