Via Naeem Sadiq: This private security guard (in Pakistan) receives Rs.25,000 for performing 12 hour duty each day for all 30 days in a month.
'His children are asleep when he leaves home for duty and when he returns back from work. He is just one of those victims who must endure this cruelty and violence every day - because there is not one Bank CEO, not one government organisation, not one person from Min Wage Board, not one Human Rights Commission, not one hate mongering politician, not one Labour Department and not one citizen who will stand up for him.
The latest Sindh Government Notification No.L-11-13-3/2016 dated 27 April 2023 says:
1. Security Guards are now correctly classified as Skilled Labour.
2. The minimum wage of a security guard who works for 8 hours cannot be less than Rs26,000 per month, and
3. He must receive 4 weekly holidays in a month.
Thus a security guard working for 12 hours each day, must receive Rs.52,000 per month, along with 4 holidays.
Bank CEOs, government organisations, Min Wage Boards, Human Rights Commissions, slogan emitting politicians, Labour Departments and fellow citizens the reason for their total silence and pretended ignorance, when they well know that NOT A SINGLE SECURITY GUARD in Pakistan receives Rs52,000 plus 4 holidays per month. Are you not hugely complicit and the real criminals of this crime against law and humanity.'
P.S. Sadiq adds: 'The CEO of the esteemed Habib Metro Bank makes Rs.12 million per month or Rs144 million per year.
Besides the Bank itself, he also presides over thousands of invisible security guards, who protect him and his numerous bank branches - all hired thru third part security companies under most cruel, exploitative, illegal and slave like arrangements.'
