I will break that wretched chain that has defined our national life in the nearly four years of Tinubu’s presidency.

I will support Nigerian production, reduce energy costs and restore purchasing power. I will not restore the import racket; I will restore relief.

I restated this commitment when I received the Osun State leadership of the ADC in Abuja on Tuesday.

I will make the naira in your pocket worth more, make daily living affordable again, and secure our people.

Economic security. Physical security. A better life for every Nigerian.

Allah briefly recounts the story of Ayyub in surah al-Anbiya' [21], saying:

[وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِن ضُرٍّ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَابِدِينَ ]

And mention Ayyub when he called to his Lord, "Adversity has afflicted me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful ones. *So We responded to Him and removed the adversity that was afflicting him. And We gave him his family and their likes over again as a mercy from Us and as a reminder to the worshipers.* [83-84]

Imam al-Sa'di wrote: *"And as a reminder to the worshipers" - meaning: We made this a lesson for the worshipers, i.e. those who take benefit from lessons. When they see the trial that struck him and then how Allah rewarded him after the trial ended and they consider the reason for that and find that that reason was sabr. That is why Allah commends him when He says:*

*[إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ]*

*"We found him to be steadfastly patient. What an excellent servant. He was always turning back to Us."* [Surah Saad ayah 44]

*So Allah made him a role model and positive example for what to do when adversity strikes.*
