बिना अदालती कार्रवाई और उचित कानूनी प्रक्रिया के किसी भी प्रॉपर्टी पर बुलडोज़र चलाना न सिर्फ़ किसी व्यक्ति के बुनियादी हक़ूक़ की ख़िलाफ़वर्ज़ी है, बल्कि लोकतंत्र और क़ानून के शासन को कमज़ोर करने वाला कदम भी है।

हाल ही में उत्तर प्रदेश के बहेड़ी में कांवड़ यात्रा मार्ग के पास एक बिरयानी की दुकान को बुलडोज़र से गिराए जाने और उसके मालिक को हिरासत में लिए जाने की घटना इसी गंभीर सवाल को फिर सामने लाती है: किसी कथित अपराध, नियम के उल्लंघन या अतिक्रमण का फ़ैसला और उसकी सज़ा क्या प्रशासन खुद तय करेगा, या यह काम क़ानून और अदालतों का है?

अवैध निर्माण या अतिक्रमण के ख़िलाफ़ कार्रवाई ज़रूर होनी चाहिए, लेकिन वह तय कानूनी प्रक्रिया, नोटिस, सुनवाई और उपलब्ध कानूनी उपायों के तहत होनी चाहिए। बुलडोज़र को सज़ा देने के औज़ार के रूप में इस्तेमाल करना किसी भी लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था के लिए बेहद ख़तरनाक है।

इस तरह की कार्रवाइयाँ अदालत और प्रशासन के बीच टकराव की स्थिति पैदा कर सकती हैं। और अगर अदालतें इंसाफ़ देने और अपने आदेशों को लागू करवाने की अपनी संवैधानिक ज़िम्मेदारी प्रभावी ढंग से नहीं निभा पाईं, तो धीरे-धीरे लोगों का न्याय व्यवस्था से भरोसा उठने लगेगा।

यह extrajudicial इंसाफ़ का चलन बंद होना चाहिए। क़ानून का राज तभी मायने रखता है, जब अपराध या आरोपी की पहचान से परे, हर व्यक्ति के लिए एक ही कानूनी प्रक्रिया लागू हो।

Student power wins. #DharmendraPradhan s resignation shows what sustained, peaceful pressure can do. But accountability can't stop at one minister. It has to be fixed for everything, big or small, even something as routine as a road accident. Systems fail people every day. It's time we stop accepting that as normal.

Today I had to travel from Mahesh Khunt to Patna on Train No. 15713 to catch my onward train to New Delhi.

At Mahesh Khunt station, the crowd at the coach entrance was so overwhelming that we couldn't even board the train. The doorway of the AC Chair Car coach was completely blocked by unauthorized passengers. Since this is a reserved coach, there should have been no such obstruction.

What was even more disappointing was that the coach stopped right in front of the Railway Police outpost. Two railway police constables were present, yet no effort was made to clear the entrance or assist passengers with valid reservations.

As a result, I had no option but to book a car to Patna to ensure I didn't miss my train to New Delhi. This unnecessary expense and inconvenience could have been avoided with proper crowd management and enforcement.

Reserved passengers deserve safe and unhindered access to their coaches. I hope the railway authorities take such incidents seriously and improve enforcement at stations.

India’s nationwide E20 petrol rollout is now facing a consumer backlash.

A LocalCircles survey of 24,000+ vehicle owners suggests many older cars are seeing lower mileage after the April 1 shift. Around 1 in 2 pre-2023 vehicle owners reported reduced fuel efficiency, and 25% said mileage dropped by over 20%.

The logic behind E20 is clear:
• lower oil imports
• lower emissions
• support for farmers and domestic ethanol supply

But the consumer complaint is also simple: if fuel efficiency falls while prices stay high, drivers end up paying more.

This is the core policy tension:
energy security vs consumer experience.

What drivers now want:
• a pure-petrol option alongside E20
• clearer guidance for older vehicles
• more transparency on mileage impact

Bhai, I run AC 365 days a year, winter or summer. That variable is constant for me throughout the year.
And expressway mileage dropped from 15 to 12 kmpl. AC load on a highway is the same in January and May.
Also, a LocalCircles survey of 50,000 vehicle owners across 301 districts confirms the drop. Are all 50,000 of them also "morons" comparing seasons?
Easy to dismiss one person. Harder to dismiss 50,000 data points. 🙂

I own a 2023 Honda Amaze automatic, which is supposedly E20-compatible. But ever since E20 fuel was introduced, my mileage has tanked badly.
Earlier: ~15 kmpl on expressways, ~12 kmpl in South East Delhi city traffic.
Now: ~12 kmpl on expressways and barely 7 kmpl in the city.
7 kmpl in an entry-level car is genuinely frustrating. I'm now seriously considering switching to an EV.
On top of that, mid-term service visits have become frequent. The service centre says it might be because the car sits parked with E20 fuel in the tank for long periods.
E20 was rolled out as a win for the environment and energy security — but who is actually bearing the cost of this policy?

Haha fair point. EV market in India is still maturing, and range anxiety + service issues are real concerns, especially with domestic brands.
But here's the thing. The consumer is stuck either way. Petrol cars bleeding mileage on E20, EVs not yet reliable enough for everyone. Meanwhile policy keeps getting pushed without fixing the ground reality.
Doomed? Maybe not. But definitely being made to pay for someone else's agenda. 😅

Bhai, the whole reason I bought an automatic is because I'm a calm, relaxed driver — no aggressive gear shifts, no heavy foot. That excuse doesn't apply here.
Also, Civic and Amaze are very different cars — different engine, different tuning, different price segment. Apples to oranges.
"E20 compliant since 2009" doesn't mean mileage stays the same when you actually switch to E20 fuel. Compliance ≠ optimisation. The drop is real, and a LocalCircles survey of 24,000+ owners backs it up.

@BharatGrowth2 This is the most honest summary I've seen on E20. The 1-in-2 pre-2023 owners stat is damning. "E20-compatible" was a label given to millions of cars — but compatible doesn't mean optimised. Nobody told buyers their mileage would quietly bleed. That's not policy, that's a trap.

@nareshbareth Exactly. Ethanol blending benefits sugarcane lobby, distillery owners, and the political ecosystem around them. The aam aadhaar wala just pays more per km. Policy by the elites, cost on the streets.

जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के प्रमुख मौलाना अरशद मदनी ने सरकार से मांग की है कि ‘गाय को राष्ट्रीय पशु घोषित किया जाए'। उनका कहना है कि 'इससे मॉब लिंचिंग रुकेगी'। मेरा मानना है कि सरकार को उनकी बात को गंभीरता से लेना चाहिए। अगर वाकई गाय या गोवंश को राष्ट्रीय पशु घोषित कर दिया गया, तो फिर इसे खाने या निर्यात (export) करने के मकसद से मारना लगभग नामुमकिन हो जाएगा।
कुछ लोग यह कह सकते हैं कि चूंकि गाय सिर्फ एक पशु नहीं है, इसलिए इसे राष्ट्रीय पशु का दर्जा नहीं दिया जा सकता; तो दूसरा विकल्प यह है कि इसे "राष्ट्र माता" का दर्जा दे दिया जाए।
लेकिन सवाल यह है कि क्या सरकार यह मांग मानेगी? और अगर मान भी लेती है, तो बीफ एक्सपोर्टर्स से मिलने वाले चंदे की भरपाई कैसे होगी?

I totally relate to this. I worked with the Congress till 2017 and our team used to have occasional meetings with @RahulGandhi. He never made us feel like we were sitting in front of someone from such a big political legacy. Always respectful, humble and down-to-earth.
As a person and as a politician, I genuinely hold him in high regard. I don't think a bad human being can ever become a good politician. A few from our team even joined BJP. One lady from our team now appears on news channels as a strong BJP voice and her favourite target is RG. It feels sad to watch because I still remember the "chaplosi" level admiration she used to show him in meetings.
Time has a funny way of revealing people's true colours.

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look.

In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments.

From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments.

We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs.

And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner.

Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional .

This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day.

Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman.

I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with.

Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.
