@ApexSeeker_ Diplomacy 4 years ago resulted in a morning airstrike on a US base on US territory. Also try to remember that Imperial Japanese Army officers tried a putsch just days before the official Japanese surrender to prolong the war.
@DarthPutinKGB Imagine, a citizen of a nation formerly forcibly occupied by a stronger nation, defending the invader of another nation. Who would have known…
@CollinSLKoh Given the ROK submarine fleet’s chronic manpower shortage and the birth decline, how do they plan to crew the nuke subs, which, once commissioned, may very well stay on patrol for anywhere between three to six months, something the ROK navy never had experience in planning?
@CollinSLKoh South Korea would definitely appreciate the build up in know-how. SSNs are not just uranium-fueled SSKs; the French proved it with their Amethyste class. The main concerns are, how much will it interfere with the previously laid out naval acquisition plans?
@CollinSLKoh I still believe a more cost effective solution for Indonesia militarily would be to invest in airborne early warning and refueling capabilities. They should just come clean and say the carrier is for regional power projection.
@CollinSLKoh In a hot conflict, given Indonesia’s fleet air defense capabilities, a carrier would make a fat target. In a cold conflict, multiple strategically placed barges to serve as staging points would seem to be a more cost effective solution.
