Knowledge becomes meaningful when it is used to solve human problems. This has found expression in the work of female team of the medical students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria which developed a diagnostic device capable of producing multiple test results within seconds.The innovation earned the team top honours at an international competition and secured a research grant from Huawei ICT during the 2025/2026 event in China.

“With Pardon and Well-Being”

I recently realized that the purpose of supplication is not merely to attain what you desire, but to attain it with Allah’s pardon and well-being (‘afw wa ‘afiyah).

You may obtain what you long for, yet illness may prevent you from benefiting from it. You may reach your goal, but arrive there while afflicted, exhausted in heart and body.

I also came to realize that well-being is not a passing phrase mentioned at the margins of a du‘a. Rather, it is the very essence of blessing, the protective covering around every joy, and the safeguard that preserves every aspiration.
