"Photodynamic Therapy for pathogenic fungi treatment using graphene oxide as photosensitizer carrier" Graphene-based materials have been used in PDT as a novel way to accelerate photosensitizers reactions to produce cell death @IPN_MX@CicataIPN_Altam @cigmmad #EMDA-4/V26
@NanoCriss@LatinXChem@nanoscale_rsc Hi @NanoCriss, thank you! I haven't measured the surface charge of GO yet. It is part of my future work because I expect to employ ELS. Regarding microscopy, I have only used AFM, but I plan to use other techniques in the future.
@TheScienceGoat@LatinXChem@nanoscale_rsc 3) Epifluorescence and confocal microscopy assess and quantify cellular damage. Epifluorescence identifies damaged cells through specific stains, while confocal offers 3D visualization. Both techniques allow the observation of morphological changes.
@TheScienceGoat@LatinXChem@nanoscale_rsc Hi @TheScienceGoat, Thanks!
Answering your questions:
1) MB can be used for both purposes, but in this project, we are primarily studying its effect as a photosensitizer. Staining was included as an additional experiment to assess cell damage.
@cigmmad Of course. We would only have to control the interval between each session and the number of follow-up sessions so that the treatment is better for the patient.
