وزير البيئة وبعثة برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في العراق ومؤسسة بحر العلوم يعلنون من ذي قار إطلاق (مشروع تنمية الجنوب )

زار وزير البيئة الدكتور هه‌لو العسكري محافظة ذي قار، اليوم، والتقى بمحافظ ذي قار السيد هيثم الحمداني وعدد من أعضاء مجلس المحافظة ورؤساء الوحدات الإدارية في إطار متابعة الواقع البيئي وتعزيز التنسيق المشترك بين الحكومة الاتحادية والحكومات المحلية. واعلن إطلاق مشروع الجنوب لمعالجة التأثيرات المناخية.

كما عقد الوزير اجتماعا موسعا في منتدى سوق الشيوخ البيئي والمجتمعي جمعه بالمشرف العام لمؤسسة بحر العلوم الخيرية الدكتور إبراهيم بحر العلوم وبمشاركة رئيس بعثة برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (undp ) الدكتور تيتون ميترا والوفد المرفق له وأعضاء منتدى سوق الشيوخ البيئي والمجتمعي وبحضور قائممقام قضاء كرمة بني سعيد السيد زكي منصور والسيد علي مجبل رئيس التجمع الثقافي في سوق الشيوخ ومستشار وزير البيئة ومدير عام اقتصاديات الكاربون الدكتور نظير عبود فزع ومدير بلدية سوق الشيوخ المهندس احمد عبيد ومدير بيئة القضاء المهندس حسام الحمداني جرى خلاله بحث التحديات البيئية والمناخية التي تواجه مناطق الجنوب وسبل معالجتها.

وشملت الزيارة جولة ميدانية إلى منطقة أم الودع في قضائي سوق الشيوخ وكرمة بني سعيد حيث اطلع الوزير على واقع مناطق الأهوار والتأثيرات البيئية والمناخية التي تعاني منها، مؤكدا أهمية وضع حلول عملية ومستدامة للحفاظ على هذه المناطق الحيوية.

كما زار الوزير وبعثة برنامج الامم المتحدة الانمائي والمشرف العام لمؤسسة بحر العلوم مضيف الشيخ ماجد العجلي بحضور النائب قسطل العجلي الحجامي وجمع غفير من ابناء محافظة ذي قار.

وأعلن وزير البيئة إطلاق مشروع الجنوب الذي يضم ثلاث جهات ��ئيسية هي الحكومة العراقية وجهة استشارية متمثلة بمؤسسة بحر العلوم إلى جانب الحكومات المحلية وبالتعاون مع الأمم المتحدة.

ويهدف المشروع إلى معالجة التأثيرات المناخية في مناطق جنوب العراق لما لها من انعكاسات كبيرة على قضايا التوظيف وزيادة معدلات البطالة والفقر، فضلا عن آثارها البيئية الواسعة حيث يسعى المشروع إلى التخفيف من هذه التحديات ووضع معالجات تسهم في تحسين الواقع البيئي والاجتماعي والاقتصادي في محافظات الجنوب.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, we hosted His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, Minister of Youth and Sports, for a symposium titled "Empowerment: Aligning the Ministry's Goals with Youth and Sports Aspirations in Iraq." The event was attended by a diverse group of young Iraqis, with participation from the United Nations Development Program. The Minister outlined the Ministry's goals and plans to advance the well-being of youth, who represent the largest demographic in Iraqi society.
