@edeninhooo R6 has lans with 40 teams that fill up quite easily, it could be a UK issue with operation costs.
The prize pool of R6 was also 3x lower than CS, with 1st place in CS awarding 6x the prize money of R6 (which doesnt pay back costs).
The prize pool just wasnt there to justify it.
I honestly don't know what they were thinking
They announced with 1 month notice and had costs of around £225 per person (ignoring travel) just to have a ticket and rent a PC.
What team is paying ~£2.5k (with travel) for this?
The prize pool doesn't even justify the expense.
As of 14th October 2026, signups for the EPIC49 Rainbow 6 Siege tournament have officially closed. With the event only two weeks away, the number of registered teams unfortunately does not meet the minimum required to justify continuing with the tournament.
This has lead us to make the difficult decision to cancel the tournament as of today.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, and we hope to see as many of you as possible down in Kettering for EPIC49.
Thank you for your understanding.
-The EPIC.LAN Team
@chambourine@CyanR6s@G1ngyFPS "Seems the community just doesn't want events badly enough" seems like an attack and there are teams who took it like that.
Even the response on your posts and the post from Epic shows what the community really thinks. People just aren't paying close to £3k for a T4 lan.
@chambourine@CyanR6s@G1ngyFPS It's just moving the goalpost to now say "in the UK" after attacking the community.
People want to go to events but not when the costs are like this.
There's a reason they didn't hit signup targets but GA hits capacity of 40 teams every year.
@chambourine@CyanR6s@G1ngyFPS And how can you say that the community doesn't want events badly enough?
The community wants events that are managed well. There are BYOC lans in siege that get high sign ups so it's clearly an Epic issue. They announced a month before the start with ridiculous costs.
@chambourine@CyanR6s@G1ngyFPS Gamers Assembly manages to do it every year with 30+ teams, it's clearly an issue with Epic not siege.
It's especially crazy to say "the community just doesn't want events badly enough". They just don't want events managed like shit.
SSG has released me from my contract so I am now LFT
• HC/AC/Strategic Coach
• T1/T2 focused
• Open to any region, prefer NA/EU
• Competent strategically and analytically
• Open to Freelance opportunities for the Major
• Highly motivated, and 7/7 availability
With Stage 2 now underway, Shifters and I have mutually agreed to part ways.
Thank you to the players, staff, and everyone involved in the project. I wish the team the best moving forward, and I am looking forward to seeing their first game today!
This also closes six years of working alongside Lyloun across Vitality, LFO/Wolves, and Shifters, the longest-running Head Coach/Assistant Coach partnership in competitive R6. I’m proud of what we built together and grateful for the trust throughout that journey.
My main focus is now finding the right project as an Assistant Coach, where I can contribute to daily practice, tactical development, staff and player discussion, and opponent preparation.
Given the timing of this announcement, I know most staff changes for Stage 2 have already been finalized. I am therefore also open, in the short term, to Analyst or opponent-preparation work for teams needing additional support during Stage 2 or preparing for the Osaka Major next month.
I also bring an automated data-collection workflow that makes new match data usable within minutes of upload, leaving more time for VOD review and preparation.
NAL and EML are my preferred regions, but for the right project and conditions, I remain open to international opportunities.
Four selected portfolio slides are attached. The complete portfolio is available on request.

LFT for rest of 2026 season. Can work as C/AC/A. Portfolio available upon request DMs opened.
Also want to thanks @GKNourAlrfaarR6 for opportunity given to me in 2024, it was great time in GK.
I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with an established team such as Falcons once again.
With that, I am now open to any opportunities either as freelance or more permanent staff roles.
With EWC now over I want to thank @Safe2Get who helped me out again as a freelancer. EWC groupstage was impossible to predict and having a helping hand to work on teams before and throughout the event does wonders.
I wish him the best of luck his future endeavours.
