Sergeant Alvarez is a critical part of our community. He leads the way in neighborhood policing, meeting with residents all the time, reducing crime , keeping the streets safe and fighting gangs in many ways Including referring teenagers into our programs. Thank you Sgt Alvarez for your servant heart .❤️
Keeping Kids out of gangs. Thats what we do. ❤️ It starts with daily free services, weekly mentoring , field trips, food, housing support, afterschool care. Always free. This weekend was one of our great outdoor nature school campouts sponsored by UCSB Bren School. We went into the mountains to learn, into the wilderness. we went Glamping.⛺️⛺️⛺️🌲🌲🌲 UCSB students taught the kids classes and a lot of hikes, even smores!! Thank you Wood Ranch Resturant’s and Boccaccios Resturant for supplying all the meals. Kids feeling joy and learning at the same time.
Safe Passage has 53 kids in free swim lessons this week. More than a sport, these free classes save lives. Families living in poverty, even homeless families can now rest easy knowing we will teach their kids to survive and thrive even in the water. Thanks to our friends at CRPD, together providing pathways to joy for all kids.
We call Fridays, “Fun Friday” for kiddos. It’s the end of the school week. After school is out… CRPD has a giant play time for Safe Passage kids. Filled with games, nutritious food, an afterschool blast ❤️❤️❤️. You see this is another tool we use to open pathways of joy, resiliency and reduce stress for kids. Making a joyful community free of gangs and crime starts with our future. This is what each and every community can do. Provide safe passages for kids, provides for your future too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Safe Passage is an all volunteer Led organization. This is how we can serve so many youth. Preventing gangs, creating joyful community and keeping kids from becoming homeless. This is Teamwork ❤️❤️❤️❤️
A great Safe Passage youth weekend passing out 12,000 pounds of fresh food to families. Our minimum age for volunteers is “ being able to say volunteer” many 4-6 graders volunteer every week. Our teen mentors show them that we all can have servant hearts.
Thank you, Los Robles Hospital for donating hundreds and hundreds of valentines gift bags for homeless children, and under-housed children. We will be out in the community passing these out all day today. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Making kids happy, resilient and joyful comes in many ways. Being able to run, play, explore. To create music, art and friends ! This is what we do. We have such amazing partners. We are an all Volunteer organization, we partner with Rotary and the CRPD Park district, CVUSD schools, and the VCSO sheriffs department and organizations like Art Trek who come in and open pathways of curiosity. Always Free, children are on a passage way to joy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
School is out and we found 60 kids who just missed it so much that they came to our annual Winter Peace Day Camp. Partnered with Art Trek, CRPD and Rotary, this combination incorporates incredible activities for kids all day long. A perfect way to bring in the valentines weekend. Music Classes, Art Projects, Games, Crafts, Peace Themes, Kids being Kids, running free, letting their minds be curious. Always free, never a fee. We bring kids together from schools across the area so the children meet and learn with others not from their neighborhood. This incorporates a sense of peace and joy and community. This is how you make communities stronger, families happy and kids resilient. ❤️❤️
Teens take Drug Awareness classes this weekend so they can help others. A great class that we taught with the help of the County of Ventura Public Health for teen leaders. Keeping communities safe and healthy is what Safe Passage does. Families become resilient and joyful
Safe Passage is proud to partner with CSF, CVUSD and the PTA to make this happen.
These little one’s eyes light up as they mix rocks that tumble and soil that changes right in their hands, or feel the thrill of launching a homemade rocket they built themselves. Real hands-on science labs starting in kindergarten, turn abstract ideas into tangible adventures. Unlike simply watching a classroom video or clicking through a laptop screen, these experiences engage all their senses—touch, sight, even the surprise of an unexpected result—creating STEM memories that stick far deeper than passive viewing ever could.
Studies and educators consistently show that children learn best by doing. When kindergartners and elementary students regularly get their hands dirty with experiments every week, they build stronger neural connections, sharper problem-solving skills, and genuine curiosity about the world.
Screen-based lessons are good to introduce science concepts in helping young minds transfer that knowledge to real life. Then, the real science occurs when kids get —hands-on labs, this makes science alive, personal, and exciting, sparking a true passion instead of just information or AI overload.
Over the elementary years, this weekly rhythm of discovery does something remarkable: it nurtures confidence. 🙏✅😇
We are so proud of firefighter Liz. An alumni, Safe Passage Youth. Having traveled through Safe Passage all through elementary school and high school. She graduated from the wildland fire Academy and now she’s protecting our community. This is how Safe Passage rolls.❤️
We pair mentors with boys, turning storytime into a future—weekly sessions, free books, zero judgment. Last year, over six hundred kids dodged danger through our volunteer work with Ventura County Sheriff‘s department, the Thousand Oaks Police Department.
