Parents seeking a SAFE start to the school year and asking BC Govt. to create a NEW back-to-school plan that will reduce COVID-19 risk to kids and staff.
Parents are mobilizing.
BC parents, if you’ve been frustrated with lack of representation from @BCCPAC, join the new parent advocacy group, P.A.G.E., led by parents, for parents. (Link in 2nd tweet) ⬇️
It’s an organization that speaks *for you*. Spread the word.

Twitter asks What's Happening? This is what's happening. The actions of provincial health leaders have resulted in parents, grandparents, doctors and teachers coming together in #safeschoolscoalition. Rally #2 has been organized for tomorrow. https://t.co/6CKtX1RXK5
For those who say K to 3 teachers can jusy ask their students to wear masks I was called a bad teacher and a child abuser today on a school PAC page and on a private message because I have advocated for masks. We are not in a safe place to encourage anything in #bced
Calling all parents, students K -post secondary, educators, school staff and community.

Are you a parent concerned there won't be safety measures in place in #bced in Sept.?
NOW is the time to contact your District Parent Advisory Council. Let them know you expect protections for unvaccinated students.

Metro Van DPACs:
Are #bced parents and educators really going to have to plead for adequate school safety measures (ie mask mandate, reduced classroom density and classroom ventilation upgrades) again, to protect their kids and themselves? Where's the leadership? Hello? Anyone there? #bcpoli

I'm interested in hearing from parents, teachers and students about any concerns with going back to school this fall, under the plan as it now stands. It's likely to be updated, but still interested. #bced

Important event to tell @BCNDPCaucus that the safety plan for #bced must take into account what we know about the Delta variant, and the lessons of last year about covid in schools. #bcpoli
Shocking #bced news.

@bcndp is letting δ rip through schools before they do anything.
Come to the rally Sat.;
Say NO!
The Fraser Health data is also likely an understatement: suspected school transmission excludes cases of contact with a community case. So transmission between two students who sit together all day in school, but also play on same soccer team, would be excluded. #bced#bcpoli
The Fraser Health data is nothing to brag about. It shows transmission in schools. It also seems to show that the winter break reduced the number of school cases. #bced#bcpoli
If you've been frustrated about B.C.'s lack of public metrics on when restrictions are created/lifted and ambiguous language around what people should do in their own lives then I have bad news about the next 3-4 weeks

Many parents would disagree with anyone stating that this leak hasn’t impacted the trust we have in @bcndp leadership. Many lost faith last Fall and it hasn’t been restored. #bced#bcpoli#COVID19#safeschools
