There seems to be some confusion if this incident turned fatal or not?
@FOX59 reported this morning that it had, per IMPD.
@IMPDnews Dispatch paged the incident out last night as a “Fatal Accident”.
We will keep an eye out for further updates.
🚨 What in the world is happening on the streets of Indy today? Two critically injured pedestrians within a 30 minute span on different sides of town. Plus an earlier serious injury incident involving a juvenile. SEVEN total incidents reported today. #SafeStreetsIndy
VICTORY! 🥳🙌
A data center moratorium is now in effect for Indianapolis through the end of 2027!
So many people told us this was impossible.
That it would never happen here.
That we need to moderate our position.
Glad we didn't listen to them!
🚨 BREAKING: Just a short while ago in Johnson City, TN, the Milligan University Cycling Team was mowed down by a motorist. At least two students are dead, with many more critically injured. No motive is known yet, this story is developing.
This is Gregory Christopher II.
The husband and father of five was hit and killed on Interstate 69 in Fishers this morning.
The driver allegedly fled the scene.
Christopher’s family shared these photos with our Cali Lichter.
According to his family, Christopher was leaving his employer's office, Roto-Rooter, around 9 p.m. Tuesday when one of tires on his work van blew out. His family says police told them he was struck by a passing vehicle at high speeds while changing the tire.
Christopher’s mother, Kristi Sockol, shared the following statement.
"No family should ever experience the pain and unbearable grief we are feeling.
He was the best girl dad anyone could ask for. He was kind and loving. His sense of humor and smile will be something we will hold onto forever. He loved his family fiercely and would want us to continue protecting them as he would have.
He wanted to make sure they had eaten dinner and done homework. He told me he loved me and I told him I loved him back. He was more concerned about his daughters than the danger he would soon face."
We are waiting for details from Indiana State Police on a suspect vehicle description.
I wanted to share a few more details about the man killed on I69 in Fishers in Hamilton County last night.
Family members tell me Gregory Christopher was an amazing man and father who was extremely hardworking and always shared a kind word. Greg has a wife and 6 daughters ranging in age from 16 down to 5 year old twins.
Greg was changing a flat tire when someone hit and killed him on the interstate last night and took off. This happened between 9:30 and 9:45 at mile mark 209.5.
If you witnessed anything please come forward as the suspect is still on the run.
His parents set up this fund to help pay for a funeral and to help with raising his 6 young girls

INDIANAPOLIS PASSES DATA CENTER MORATORIUM: Applause from the audience after the Metropolitan Development Commission unanimously approves a data center moratorium through 2027
BREAKING: New data center developments cannot be approved in Marion County through 2027. The Metropolitan Development Commission approved the pause Wednesday. https://t.co/QslIQeEGbR
There seems to be a complete inability from from pro-data center people (of which Im sympathetic) to consider the Occams Razer of all this: people don’t like AI
I'm impressed by the latest @JamesEBriggs piece.
Truly the worst he's ever written!
A masterpiece of rage-baiting, which he will insist is sincere.

@JATompkins This is just not true. The vast majority of data center capacity being built in Indiana is for AI, not hospitals or streaming. Big Tech is already committed to building 10,000 MW of data centers here in 6 years, when we have like 100 MW total today. There is no need for any more!
Woke up to a message asking me for more information on a fatal hit-and-run on I69 in Fishers last night.
A friend of the man killed said he was changing a tire on the side of the road in his company vehicle when he was hit and the driver took off.
The friend told me the man is a father of a several children and wanted to make sure the news was covering the case.
State Police confirm that there was a fatal crash and a hit-and-run on I 69 in Fishers last night. They expect more information to be released later today.
Right now, we have no information on a suspect vehicle.
I also reached out to the company the man worked for and I am waiting to hear back.
New🚨: Indianapolis is proposing a $242.8 million property tax break for the 250-MW Sabey data center 💰💵💰💵💰.
Combined with the $395 million in local subsidies for a 75-MW Metroblok data center, it totals $638 million in lost tax revenue for 2 data centers over 15 yrs.
