We've had enough of road deaths and danger. 24 killed and 283 seriously injured in Oxfordshire in 2022 is too many families hurt.

@TheOxfordMail Was driver incompetence was involved?
When even County Councillors claim that speeding is not a serious crime, and dangerous roads should not be made safe, it's no wonder that motorists must suffer daily delays, and frequent crashes, often with injuries or death.
Looking forward to Transport Committee @HoCcommitteesUK inquiry on road safety:
Remember 29,911 people were killed or seriously injured in 2025 and increase of 4% from 2024.
You need to hear the victims voice (missing today) and recommend urgency to match the increased KSIs
Unintended but blindingly obvious consequences part 51: local council "improves" road by straightening it. But in doing so they've encouraged speeding & the local police are forced to introduce operations to deter speeding & protect road users.
The dangerous Councillor is the one that
(a) creates a false premise the 'motorists' and other road users are separate species to manufacture division
(b) campaigns against measures proven to reduce road deaths and serious injuries by 20-40%.
An international meta-analysis of 70 studies across 40 countries came to the same conclusion.
Crashes werereduced by an average 23%, fatalities reduced by average 37%.
Emissions, noise, fuel use and traffic congestion also reduced.

The Lib Dems are dangerous. Councillors driven by ideology with a total disregard for motorists. We are seeing similar issues in Oxfordshire and continue to hold them to account. Residents have had enough of ridiculous Lib Dem ideas…
"There is strong evidence for a relationship between road traffic and health inequalities. For example, people who live the most deprived areas are at greater risk of being killed or injured on the roads than people in less deprived areas."
@TheOxfordMail Consultations are not referendums or representative. They are designed to identify objections. But given the human aversion to change, public support like this is a testament to the popularity of, er, not wanting to be killed.
This story sum up @TheOxfordMail. It would rather spread division and hate than save lives.
Each of these schemes had a most people supporting it in its consultation and is there to reduce danger from vehicles being driven too quickly where there are people on the road.
@TheOxfordMail As ever, Roj Blake promotes the view that motorists should be allowed to be as dangerous as they want to be.
But a look at the consultation responses shows that all three 20mph proposals had strong support in their consultations.:
