A PLEA TO OUR COMMUNITY! Sadly, an employee's @himiway_official e-bike was stolen from outside of the Walk Bike Nashville offices at 1 South Street, East Nashville today 1/13 between 10:45pm and 12:30pm - black with a grey basket on the front. Please be on the lookout! 👀💚
This does not meet the definition of electric bicycle in most US states under the three class law. Class 2 which allows a throttle must have operable pedals.
.@limebike is piloting what they call a "pedal-less electric bicycle", see picture. I'm not sure if it's an e-scooter with a seat, or an electric moped. But I do know that most people wouldn't call it a "bicycle" as it isn't active mobility.
E-bikes are a game changer. On e-bikes, people ride more often and their trips cover a longer distance. Altogether the e-bike makes cycling an even more appealing mode of transport than it already was. ⚡️🚴💪🌿https://t.co/FnvudlUgTJ
These Active Transportation corrals are great.
1) Traffic calming (narrowing lanes)
2) bike & scooter storage that doesn't take away sidewalk space
3) Daylighting tool (put near intersections to prevent cars parking)
We should install a few in East Nashville.
Cycling infrastructure should be consistent and safe.
Part-time lanes create confusion and put cyclists and drivers at risk.
Full-time, segregated lanes encourage more people to ride.
For kids to cycle safely, they need routes free from cars and buses. 🙏
Remember, Paris wasn’t “always this way.”
It wasn’t even this way in late 2019 when I was last there.
Just a few years ago, #Paris was choking in car traffic much more.
This is new. This is leadership.
Cities are a result of choices.

More car lanes draw out more car drivers, which then fills up the car lanes.
More bike lanes draw out more bike riders, which then fills up the bike lanes.
Induced demand isn't inherently good or bad, it just is.
