This afternoon, in the lane opposite Swami Vivekananda Park leading to Srishti N5 campus, a few students were harassed by 3 young men on a bike, who first whistled at them and drove off on their Activa. They came back, and started staring while smirking and passing comments.

[StopStreetHarassment @StopStHarassmnt]

#Streetharassment is the manifestation of inequalities that exist in our society in public spaces, inequalities like #sexism, #racism, #homophobia #transphobia #ableism #classism etc. Public spaces won’t truly be safe 4 all until we are all equal in our broader societies. #EndSH

[Students for Safety @SafeYelahanka]

We want to be able to express ourselves freely wherever we are, without being held accountable for it. #EndSH

[Students for Safety @SafeYelahanka]

We have to stop normalising staring, whistling, catcalling and all other forms of #Streetharassment. #ReportIt to #StopIt and #EndSH.

[Students for Safety @SafeYelahanka]
