@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow I would like it more if they weren't afraid to make the Tsaritsa look bad. I liked Ei a lot actually because the narrative did paint her in a bad light and let her be a bad person before she changed. Nowadays, they always need to make the characters seem righteous all the time.
@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow It wouldn't make sense for the Tsaritsa to fight him because she's realistically just as or close to as awful of a person as him. It would just make her seem more hypocritical considering all the suffering she's allowed to happen under her rule. Why won't anyone point that out?
@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow Well she never did because she's complicit in all of the child experimentation and torture since he did it under her watch with the power granted to him by her and her funding. She's responsible for all the horrible things Dottore did as a harbinger, and there's no way around it.
@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow So I think of the thousands of children who were abused or witnessed abuse, a few of them would probably mention it. Also, Arlecchino is very outspoken about how disgusted she is with Dottore, so she has no reason at all to stay silent.
@ZrvaV4@psychocios@ruthmeoow Why are you all ignoring that multiple characters including arlecchino knew about the experiments. She has every incentive to expose Dottore's crimes to the higher ups but they somehow didn't know? Did NONE of the kids under Crucabena say a single thing about it? Why?
@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow Why are we just making things up to defend the Tsaritsa? Again, many characters knew about Dottore's experiments, including Arlecchino, it wasn't a secret. It doesn't make sense for her to not know. And even so, it's still her responsibility for giving him the funds to do so.
@rabbitbunnny When her hypocrisy is never meaningfully addressed and she continues to be seen as a good person and amazing leader by every character in the game, will you admit you're wrong? At best we'll get a couple lines about it maybe, and no character will really call her out enough.
Hoyo's writing is not subtle. If they want you to think a certain thing about a character, they will beat that into your head repeatedly. It's very obvious with how the Tsaritsa is framed that the game wants you to like her and does not want you to see her as a hypocrite.
@psychocios@ZrvaV4@ruthmeoow You are arguing that the Tsaritsa is an incompetent buffoon who hires abusers and allows them to torture and groom children on a mass scale right under her nose and she doesn't even know about it. This is even worse than her just knowing about it and allowing it.
@Almaz146362@pierroswife What exactly is the consistent standard the traveler holds that makes it so Signora and Dottore are deserving of death while Pierro and Tsaritsa are perfectly okay to work with and help, even after the threat of Ronova is gone?
@pierroswife We probably agree more than we disagree, cause there's definitely way worse writing in this game and most of it is the fault of other characters. I just can't help but feel Pierro won't reach his full potential, unfortunately. Let's just hope he's playable and won't be killed off
@pierroswife What I would like is for the narrative and characters (such as Arlecchino and Traveler) to hold Pierro to the same standard they hold Dottore considering Pierro is complicit in many of his crimes, but the game is more interested in ignoring that to paint him in a good light.
@WrongEren@Zy0x_ I of course understand why people would hate Dottore, he's meant to be hated and is very effective at playing a monstrous villain. Still, I see no reason not to make him playable, as he's a very important character with a ton of fans. Villains like Dottore should be playable.
