They don’t think we should be involved at all in global politics, even though most of the $ for Ukraine went back into the US economy for weapons production.

@anders_aslund @mrsorokaa What exactly would such a comment accomplish for Ukraine? Unfortunately, Zelensky can’t rely on Europe only. He has to be restrained and flatter Trump to have any hope of negotiating even a halfway good deal for Ukraine.

@anders_aslund I think most Americans didn’t even listen to him at the UN. If they did, it was only short clips that they saw. These are then filtered through the media. Depends on what they see. There are still lots of people who are not ashamed, I suspect.

@anders_aslund Harris and Obama don’t have much influence now. Who could effect change? The GOP in Congress but so far they follow Trump like lemmings. The Democrats try but they are outnumbered by GOP. Also Supreme Ct rulings have given Trump too much power.

@davidfrum Not the way I see it. I think you overestimated JD Vance’s slick delivery as appealing. Walz definitely won on substance and hammered home some important points. JD is smooth and lies easily. Slimy - especially on abortion.

@bigfatsurprise @oldglstuf Most medical info encourages everyone to avoid animal products of any sort. Better for people, better for the environment is the message. Cold cuts are put in the ultra processed food category, right? Whole grains seem less of an issue.

@Klitschko Absolutely right. Republicans in Congress wasted months while Ukrainians paid with their lives. Restrictions on weapons and where 🇺🇦 can strike and put Ukraine at a terrible disadvantage. Nuclear war fears are overblown; putin wants to preserve himself, too. 🇺🇦 Слава Україні
