Narcissists/psychopaths often have what I refer to as a ‘partner henchman’.
The partner henchman is groomed by the human predator to be so supremely grateful to the human predator for opportunities they offer them and so entwined in the life of the human predator that they are compelled to support them no matter what.
This is not out of respect/consideration on behalf of the human predator, rather it is a tactic to decrease the risk of them being exposed and/or brought down.
There may be other benefits of a partner henchman such as reporting back information to the predator, selecting and grooming targets & engaging in the detail work that the predator might not want to do.
An example of a predator/partner henchman relationship might be a shy, undriven academic being pulled up on the coattails of a prolific publisher academic predator. By co-authoring, the partner henchman is locked in & and must support the human predator even where they might find out later, they are plagiarising or manipulating research for financial outcomes.
The human predator will do other things to further deepen that partner henchman sense of loyalty. For example, they may profess (lie) to be struggling with a health issue that they can only talk to the partner henchman about, they might ask favours of the partner henchman such as giving away their daughter at her wedding in the absence of a father. They may create a romantic relationship to further the bond.
The bond is like that of a creeping vine living on a tree.
Sometimes human predators choose their child as a partner henchman maybe in a family business (possibly so the child can take the fall because the predator parent is financially exploiting clients). Sometimes they choose their wife/husband as a partner henchman (possibly because they started a relationship with them when they were under age). Sometimes it might be a CEO predator choosing a CFO, treasurer or other financial specialist as a partner henchman (in business the partner henchman is often a financial specialist because the CEO is often engaged in nefarious activities they do not want exposed).
When you see 2 people that seem to present as a single force, this is a very, very strong red flag for a human predator.
This is different to the concept of “flying monkeys”. So-called flying monkeys are the people human predators manipulate to support them, who believe in their façade & are supportive of them. A partner henchman is a more intense, intertwined, deep relationship with a human predator.

But they can be proud of their journey. 👏
It was their first World Cup appearance since 1974, and they won their first-ever World Cup game against Uzbekistan and held Portugal to a draw.
And they only fell short against England in the final minutes...

As Colonel-in-Chief, The King unveils a statue at West Princes Street Gardens to mark the 20th anniversary of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
In a speech at the unveiling, His Majesty said:
‘It is a moment to reflect on two decades of service, as well as to honour a lineage that stretches unbroken from 1633 from your antecedent regiments - some represented here today - that now form this great Regiment. That continuity is a living testament to duty, resilience, and unwavering commitment’.
🦁The statue, a bronze lion in repose guarding the regiment’s cap badge, was designed by local Edinburgh sculptor, Kenny Hunter. The lion sits on a plinth of six separate sections, representing the unity of Scotland’s six historic infantry regiments, amalgamated to form the SCOTS in 2006.
A tourism article from Welcome to Yorkshire and Parkdean Resorts (published 30 June 2026) reveals that the Princess of Wales’s completion of the Three Peaks Challenge has created a massive surge in interest. Google searches for “Three Peaks Challenge” skyrocketed by 942% in just one week.

The irony in these two pictures🤌🏽🔥
Catherine is a woman who never served in the armed forces. And yet here she is receiving commendation from a Veteran's foundation for the incredible resilience, courage and physical effort she put in to complete the Three peaks Mountain challenge, with grace and determination.♥️
Harry is suppose to be the "big war Hero" who deployed to Afghanistan and is patron of Invictus, the organisation supposed to highlight disable veterans.
Yet it is Harry who is called out by the "Veterans Voice" for his selfish and nonstop moaning that has shaded the veterans and Invictus🤡
This is the entire story. For all his "military career", Harry does not display ONE value of the military ethos. He does not display any dignity, any respect, any resilience nor any sense of duty worth talking about.
Everything is always about HIM, everyone must always about HIM and I am glad he is getting called out by Veterans publicly for being such an abysmal and self centered patron👌🏽
Meanwhile the one they laughed at for being a "Honorary colonel" displays more resilience, dignity, sense of duty and respect than the one who served.😏☕
Lord have mercy... the biggest objections to the microphone theory has been that the device wouldn't fit inside the case so I gave the outside dimensions of the shaped charge because that's what must fit inside the case. (don't you remember a few post ago where the "destroyed" the theory by saying the charge would not fit inside a RØDE case?) Then you claimed that the .5 gram charge wouldn't fill the outside dimensions (correctly BTW) so I gave you accurate inside dimensions and the math to show that the charge is perfectly sized for that charge. Now your saying I keeps changing it up! The only thing that hasn't changed with you is your comprehension level. You couldn't even be bothered to research enough to know that the RØDE microphone was mounted with its side faced towards Charlie's chest... lazy, half-cocked post that relay on Appeals to Authority more than substance are not going to cut it.
The King and Queen, joined by The Duke of Rothesay and The Duke of Edinburgh, have attended the Thistle Service at St Giles’ Cathedral.
The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle is the greatest order of chivalry in Scotland, recognising sixteen Knights and Ladies with the highest honour in the country.
The King is Sovereign of the Order and appointments are made in recognition of men and women who have contributed significantly to national life.
With the higher quality photos of the SUV floorboard we can say without a doubt that the fragments found scattered in between the captain seats of the Denali are chemically strengthen glass shards with black back-face dye.
This is the exact type of glass on the face of the RØDE Wireless PRO that Charlie wore underneath his shirt on September 10th at UVU.
Honored to see that my article on Xi Jinping's latest book has now been published in Beijing Review, China's only national English-language news magazine established in 1958 at the behest of Zhou Enlai: https://t.co/SMyExD1PxM
That's probably the greatest compliment that could be paid to the article, given that my objective - as I initially wrote in the article itself - was to understand the book and Xi's governance philosophy on its own terms. Beijing Review publishing it is China essentially validating that.
Too many so-called "China watchers", when they write about China, have an adversarial and cynical approach by default: they don't even consider that the country could be sincere in its endeavors, instead they start from the assumption that every policy has a dark hidden agenda and every speech is propaganda.
Bit by bit, this leads to a situation where they don't even listen anymore and instead build a closed loop of their own assumptions, citing each other, referencing their own frameworks, constructing a phantom China that exists nowhere outside their publications. The real China only breaks through when something can be clipped out of context and misinterpreted to confirm what they'd already decided was true.
Needless to say, that's not intellectual honesty - not even remotely.
Imagine someone did this to what you had to say about yourself: if everything you said all the time was assumed to be a lie, and the only time you were quoted was when your words could be weaponized against you. And if, in the field of "[your name] analysis", the people who were the most effective at misrepresenting you in a way that served the pre-existing consensus were the most published and the most promoted.
You'd understand immediately that this system isn't designed to understand you.
Now that's of course not to say that everything China says about itself is true, just like anything anyone or any country says about themselves. We all embellish things and focus on what makes us look good.
But the starting point of understanding anyone - a person, a culture, a civilization - has to be listening to what they actually say, not deciding in advance that it's all a performance. You can be critical after you've listened. You can't be critical instead of listening.
Otherwise you end up in exactly the situation we're currently in with China: in perpetual surprise at everything they do, because - guess what - they don't act upon our caricature of them but, like all of us, upon their own self-understanding.
We actually used to understand that, not sure at what point it got lost in the slow intellectual decay of the West. For instance, in the 1970s, game theorist Anatol Rapoport wrote (https://t.co/fjPtZONCK1) that "a pre-requisite in a genuine debate is a complete understanding by each of the opponents of the other’s position. The criterion for such understanding must be not one’s own feeling that one has understood the other’s position but the other’s feeling that his position has been completely understood."
As such, Rapoport wrote, an essential rule of genuine debate should be to require that one starts their own response by presenting the other's argument so clearly and fairly that they'd reply positively to the question "Has your side been presented well?"
Even in old medieval Europe, Thomas Aquinas - one of the most influential thinkers in the history of Catholic theology and Western philosophy - argues in his "Summa Contra Gentiles" (in Book I, Chapter 2) that the best method of refutation is to know the opponent's position from their own words and teaching - to have been so immersed in it that you can argue from within it.
He describes this as "the method that the ancient Doctors of the Church used in the refutation of the errors of the Gentiles" and says that they were particularly effective in converting "Gentiles" because "they themselves had been Gentiles, or at least had lived among the Gentiles and had been instructed in their teaching."
I'm obviously not suggesting that China needs to be converted to anything - they're not Aquinas's equivalent of "Gentiles" - or that they're opponents in some sort of debate. I'm merely making the point that this principle - genuinely listening and understanding the other **on their own terms** as a first step - is one of the oldest in Western intellectual history.
Which is why, again, it's a compliment if China looks at a piece of analysis and says "yes, that's what we meant." It is a first step, the step that's so sorely missing in our contemporary approach to the country.
Next week people all over the world will join the funeral procession of Ayatollah Khamenei He died as he lived, a symbol of resistance, & he lives in the hearts & minds of everyone who believes in peace & justice. His martyrdom changed history. RIP
