Primer artículo que veo en prensa española acerca de este informe sobre los abusos sexuales a niñas en Reino Unido

Lo que cuenta este informe de Rupert Lowe coincide con informes oficiales previos que nadie ha podido desmentir:
-El Jay Report (2014) sobre Rotherham: al menos 1.400 niñas explotadas sistemáticamente.
-El informe de Telford (2022): más de 1.000 víctimas en esa sola localidad.
-Casos documentados en Rochdale, Oxford, Oldham, Bradford y decenas de distritos más.

Todos ellos describen el mismo patrón: bandas organizadas (mayoritariamente de origen pakistaní), niñas vulnerables (muchas blancas británicas de clase trabajadora), violaciones grupales, tráfico, violencia extrema y, sobre todo, el encubrimiento institucional por miedo a “parecer racistas”.

Aunque la cifra real fuera “solo” 100.000 casos (o incluso menos), seguiría siendo uno de los mayores escándalos de abuso sexual infantil en la historia de la Europa moderna en tiempos de paz. Miles de niñas destrozadas durante décadas mientras la policía, los servicios sociales y los políticos miraban para otro lado.

Creo que el debate sobre el número exacto o sobre el autor de este último informe no debería servir para minimizar lo monstruoso del fondo. El miedo a "dar munición a la derecha" es exactamente lo que permitió que esto durara décadas. Ese fue el problema original. Eso es lo que hay que reconocer y corregir, venga de quien venga el informe que lo pone encima de la mesa.

Hoy se premia a millones de personas saltarse las leyes. That’s the chilling line from Melanie Phillips that stopped me in my tracks.

She explains how we’ve reached a point where simply stating observable reality — whether it’s basic biology defining a woman or pushing back against blanket accusations that all white people are inherently bad — gets you branded as evil. Not wrong. Evil. Therefore you must be silenced, cancelled, or erased. No debate. No evidence allowed.

She calls it cultural totalitarianism: a Manichean worldview where one ideology claims a monopoly on goodness, progress, and reason itself. Dissent isn’t argued with — it’s treated as a moral threat that has to be removed.

The deepest irony? In an era that smugly ditched religion in the name of superior rationality, we’ve ended up rejecting reason, evidence, and open inquiry altogether. We’re so “rational” we’ve dispensed with the very tools of rationality.

It doesn’t add up.

Her take has me wondering how we got here — and how quickly disagreement turned into moral excommunication.
