Kerala Police have arrested @mohandastg over his controversial remarks regarding the CJP protesters at Jantar Mantar.

On one hand, CJP is demanding the withdrawal of cases against its protesters. On the other hand, when someone makes remarks against them, they are quick to demand action and file cases. What kind of double standard is this?

During the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, several protesters themselves made remarks that were far more controversial and provocative than those attributed to T. G. Mohandas.

If they believe in the rule of law, then the same standard must apply to everyone.

Now #BJP and #RSS leaders/members should not remain silent. Appropriate legal complaints should be filed against those protesters whose remarks crossed the line and full legal support should be extended to T. G. Mohandas.

You cannot demand “withdraw all cases against us” while celebrating cases against those who criticize you.

Justice cannot be selective. The law cannot have two standards. Enough of this blatant double standard.

यदि कोई आज की घटनाओं को देखकर यह सोच रहा है कि यह भ��जपा की पराजय है, तो मेरी राय में वह राजनीति को केवल सतह से देख रहा है। भाजपा बिना दीर्घकालिक रणनीति के इतने बड��े राजनीतिक निर्णय नहीं लेती। भारतीय राजनीति में कई बार जो दिखाई देता है, वास्तविक खेल उससे कहीं आगे का होता है।

आज धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफ़े के बाद जारी उनके संदेश का चौथा अनुच्छेद ध्यान से पढ़िए। उसमें उन्होंने स्पष्ट रूप से कहा कि युवाओं को असामाजिक और राष्ट्रविरोधी तत्वों के बहकावे में नहीं आना चाहिए, छात्रों का भविष्य कानूनी विवादों में नहीं उलझना चाहिए और उन्हें अपनी पढ़ाई तथा ��रियर पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। दूसरी ओर, सोनम वांगचुक ने भी अपने ट्वीट में स्वीकार किया कि कुछ असामाजिक तत्व शांतिपूर्ण आंदोलन का लाभ उठाकर हिंसा फैलाने की कोशिश कर रहे ��ैं।

यहीं से भाजपा अपना अगला नैरेटिव तैयार करेगी। पार्टी यह संदेश देगी कि युवाओं की भावनाओं और उनकी मांगों का सम्मान करते हुए शिक्षा मंत्री में परिवर्तन किया गया, जबकि NEET पेपर लीक मामले की जांच पहले से ही CBI पूरी गंभीरता से कर रही है। यानी सरकार ने केवल दोषियों पर कार्रवाई ही नहीं की, बल्कि राजनीतिक जवाबदेही भी तय की। साथ ही धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के त्याग को इस रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा कि उन्हो���ने पद से अधिक महत्व युवाओं के भविष्य को दिया और जाते-जाते यह संदेश देकर गए कि छात्र किसी भी असामाजिक या राष्ट्रविरोधी एजेंडे का हिस्सा न बनें।

2027 में सात राज्यों के विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं। मेरा मानना है कि यही पूरा घटनाक्रम भाजपा का सबसे बड़ा चुनावी नैरेटिव बनेगा। विशेष रूप से Gen Z को यह संदेश दिया जाएगा कि भाजपा युवाओं के भविष्य, शिक्षा और करियर को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देती है, जबकि विपक्ष छात्र आंदोलनों को राजनीतिक हथियार बनाना चाहता है।

एक और बात, जिस पर शायद बहुत कम लोगों का ध्यान गया। पिछले लगभग दो वर्षों से समष्टि पुनर्निर्धारण (Delimitation) विधेयक को पारित कराने के लिए आवश्यक संख्या भाजपा के पास नहीं थी। लेकिन जब लगभग डेढ़ महीने तक पूरा देश आंदोलन पर चर्चा में व्यस्त था, तब दूसरी ओर राजनीतिक समीकरण साधने का काम भी चल���ा रहा। यदि आवश्यक समर्थन जुट जाता है और यह प्रक्रिया पूरी होती है, तो आने वाले दशकों तक भारतीय राजनीति का समीकरण बदल सकता है।

इतिहास बताता है कि राजनीति में शुरुआती हालात अक्सर आखिरी नतीजों से बहुत अलग होते हैं। अरविंद केजरीवाल के उभार के बाद कांग्रेस पार्टी को सबसे बड़ा राजनीतिक झटका लगा, फिर भी कांग्रेस-विरोधी भावना और "बदलाव" की राजनीति का सबसे ज़्यादा फ़ायदा अंत में बीजेपी को ही मिला। सबसे दिलचस्प बात यह है कि कांग्रेस को कमज़ोर करने के लिए बीजेपी और आरएसएस ने खुद ही केजरीवाल के उभार में मदद की थी। कोई भी पूरी तरह से यह नहीं समझ सकता कि बीजेपी और आरएसएस किसी भी समय क्या राजनीतिक चालें चल रहे होंगे। राजनीति में जो दिखता है, वह पूरी कहानी नहीं होती।

इसलिए जिसे आज कुछ लोग अपनी जीत या भाजपा की हार मान रहे हैं, वह अंतिम सत्य हो यह मान लेना जल्दबाज़ी होगी। राजनीति शतरंज का खेल है। यहाँ कई चालों का अर्थ उसी समय समझ आता है, जब पूरी बाज़ी समाप्त होती है।

समय का इंतज़ार कीजिए। आज की घटना का वास्तविक राजनीतिक अर्थ आने वाले वर्षों में अधिक स्पष्ट दिखाई देगा।
