Heat pump tumble dryers being made mandatory as U.K. adopts EU rules. I push a vote to protest the way these statutory instrument regulations are slipped through
@SandyofSuffolk It’s the cost of a glass of wine that’s put me off eating out, when I have to pay £9 or something for a glass of wine I know I can buy the bottle for same price. I know they need a mark up but that’s just to much.
@ukboomers If he stopped eating smashed avo on toast for a month he could probably save enough for the deposit. Was at my local National Trust property last week and egg sandwich and a can of cold drink cost £8.70!!
British nicknames are an unregulated industry. a 5'6 tradesman called Anthony is professionally known as Shetland Tony. a man who lost an eye is called Keth. a quiet man wore a yellow jumper once and became
Mumblebee.
what's the best nickname you've ever heard
@jrkdenison@A1an_M My experience , with my teenage children in independent schools, doesnt exclude the disruptive children I’m afraid ! My daughter gets ‘used’ as a behaviour buffer mostly, the amount of disruption in lessons and disrespect for teachers is just mind boggling.
@AvonandsomerRob Oh oh we rented a nice 4 bed in Melbourne with a butlers pantry etc for $4000 a month, and their rentals agreements are you give notice but you pay until they find a new tenant … awesome. Weather was lovely though !
@AvonandsomerRob We ‘moved ‘ in 2017. Quickly discovered that China owns Australia , groceries are more expensive than the UK and let’s not even discuss their behaviour during Covid . So good luck with that dream. Weather is nice !!
