This article looks at the nexus between #Morocco’s political power, military elites and privileged access to resources in occupied #WesternSahara.

On #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honour support for the #Saharawi refugees.
Yet, governments that fund aid to them often also support trade involving resources from occupied #WesternSahara. Humanitarian assistance should not go hand in hand with policies that sustain occupation.
The Frente #POLISARIO strongly urges the Security Council to take immediate measures to protect the life of the political prisoner, Enaâma #Asfari, and holds the Moroccan occupying authorities fully responsible for his fate and the fate of other Sahrawi political prisoners.
⛔️MOROCCO IS A DICTATORSHIP. Not a “reforming monarchy.” Not a “complicated ally.” A hereditary dictatorship where one man controls the state, the government, the courts, the intelligence services and much of the private economy. His name is Mohammed VI. Washington arms him. Israel supplies him. Brussels pays him. Last week, 88 of his own citizens drowned trying to escape from this oppressive regime ‼️
Daniel Falcone has published an interview he did with me on the controversial decision to film key scenes in "The Odyssey" in Moroccan-occupied #WesternSahara
My analysis includes some important background on that often-overlooked conflict

While #ChristopherNolan has plundered #WesternSahara through #TheOdyssey, we want to thank everyone who has spontaneously donated to support Sahrawi filmmakers. Please donate and help fight the whitewashing of Morocco's illegal occupation.

Speaking at 🇿🇦-🇳🇦 Business Forum in Johannesburg, President Ramaphosa and President Nandi-Ndaitwah stated that South Africa and Namibia remain resolute in their support for the people of Western Sahara🇪🇭, the last colony in Africa, in their long and just struggle for freedom.
I don't get why people who wouldn't think of cheering for Israel or Russia in international sporting events due to their invasions, occupations, illegal annexations, and war crimes are nevertheless supporting Morocco in the World Cup despite what they are doing to Western Sahara.
Today we remember Mahfud Ali Beiba, a great man who was not only the Head of the Negotiating Delegation of Frente #POLISARIO but also a statesman renowned for his patriotism, dedication and wisdom. May he and all martyrs of our national cause rest in peace.

The #UN Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) will start its substantive session on 15 June with #WesternSahara🇪🇭 on its agenda. The C-24 included Western Sahara on the 🇺🇳UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories in December 1963, and it remains the last colony in Africa.
Happy #AfricaDay! As we celebrate the richness, resilience and spirit of this great continent, let us not forget Africa’s last colony, Western Sahara, whose people, the Sahrawis, are still waiting for their most basic and inalienable right: self-determination and independence. Decades after decolonisation swept across Africa, an entire people remain under illegal occupation, displaced, dispossessed and ignored by the world. The promise of a free Africa will remain unfinished until Western Sahara is free. #WesternSahara #AfricaDay2026 🇪🇭
Today we commemorate the 53 anniversary of our armed struggle against colonialism and occupation. It is an occasion to pay homage to all the martyrs of our national cause who laid down their lives for the freedom and independence of our great people.
