Thank you to my sister President @SuluhuSamia for the warm welcome to Tanzania and for the productive discussions.
Rwanda and Tanzania are not only neighbors but brotherly countries bound by history and a shared goal of prosperity for our people. Rwanda remains committed to building on this strong foundation by deepening our bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics, energy, and regional integration.
I look forward to continuing our collaboration to achieve tangible results for our citizens and advance the East African Community.
Today, I visited Ntarama Pig Farm on a grand scale @pigs_farm managed by Peace Niyoyita, a resilient and inspiring woman who is transforming pig farming in Rwanda.
She began her journey in 2017 with just 10 pigs. Today, her farm has grown to over 500 pigs, and her team has expanded from 3 to 25 permanent workers.
The farm has become one of Rwanda’s premier agricultural enterprises, offering:
- High-quality breeding stock to farmers
- Pig semen production, working closely with the Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB) and Zipline to distribute across the country
- Premium pork products through Pork House Ntarama, producing up to 5 metric tons daily
Peace encourages Rwandans to invest in pig farming, describing it as a fast-growing and highly profitable venture.
She also highlights that with the Pork House Ntarama facility, farmers now have a reliable market for their produce.

At #Kwibuka32 in Ottawa on April 7, I warned that in #DRC the same ideology that fueled the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi persists, as genocidal forces are tolerated while Rwanda & threatened Tutsi communities in DRC are blamed for defending themselves.
"Valentine was just a child during the Genocide against the Tutsi. She survived in a way no child should ever have to, hiding among the dead, badly injured, carrying wounds that go far beyond what the eye can see.
After the genocide, when the country was slowly rising again, she returned to Nyarubuye; to the very church where she had once been tortured and witnessed so many being killed. And there, she chose to pray!
In a place filled with painful memories, she chose healing. In a place marked by darkness, she chose faith.
Her story is not just one of survival, it is one of courage, resilience, and the strength to rebuild even after the unimaginable."

"Let this day be a reminder of our shared responsibility to prevent such atrocities from ever happening again."
@UNCityCPH, our Dep. Executive Director @KoneSonja honoured the memory of the 1 million children, women & men who were killed in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in #Rwanda.
On this Intl. Day of Reflection, let us raise our voices for justice, accountability, human rights & peace. For everyone, everywhere.

He has been consistent with this phrase since early 90’s: “there’s no question about it…” when it comes to how far he can go to keep Rwanda safe.

“In our position, would any other country make a different choice? And any condemnation that comes, by the way, is a badge of honor for our security forces. That honor is not something that can easily be washed away by rain or shine or whatever. It is part of us. It will remain so in good and bad times.” - President Kagame

Today at MINAGRI, Hon. Ministers convened a high-level consultative meeting with Irrigation Engineers under RAB &RAB-SPIU. The meeting reviewed the implementation of irrigation projects, discussed key challenges, and outlined the way forward in alignment with national strategies.
“Our policies often look good on paper, in documents. But the most essential thing is ensuring that these well-crafted ideas are implemented. They must not remain just written documents. People must constantly ask why actions that were urgent and had resources allocated to them, even if limited, were not implemented as they should have been.
Our drive and commitment must lead us to act swiftly, do the right things and to hold those who fail to fulfill their responsibilities accountable. Answers must be provided so that mistakes are not repeated.
Many of the things Rwanda goes through are difficult. Some challenges are internal, others come from outside. Even when a neighbour makes a mistake and causes a problem, Rwanda is the one that pays the price and is held accountable. That is our burden.
You must be fully aware of this, and let it shape the way you work, not in the ordinary, day-to-day manner of those who are not affected by such challenges. We face a double burden: we are held accountable for our own actions, and also for those of others.
That is the reality. Rather than sit back and complain, we must draw strength from within ourselves to confront and overcome these challenges.” President Kagame | Swearing-in Ceremony for Senators
On behalf of the people of Rwanda and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, to my brother President @WilliamsRuto, and to the people of Kenya on the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga.
His lifelong dedication to public service and his steadfast commitment to democracy, justice, and unity in Kenya and across Africa will be remembered for generations to come.
We stand in solidarity with the government and people of Kenya during this time of national mourning.
This afternoon in Brussels, President Kagame held bilateral talks with President @vonderleyen of the European Commission. They exchanged on Rwanda–EU cooperation, including the EU’s support for the BioNTech mRNA Vaccine Manufacturing Facility in Kigali.
The two leaders were later joined by Nadia Calviño, President of the @EIB, and BioNTech CEO Uğur Şahin to mark the new €95 million support towards vaccine manufacturing.
The UN Security council members attempted to minimize FDLR by asking #Rwanda to lift its defensive measures along its borders with DRC
“If you want to know how many times the #FDLR has attacked Rwanda, just look at the travel advisories some of your countries have issued.
Every time the FDLR attacks Rwanda, you advise your citizens not to travel to that part of the country."
