This work was led by Marion Mouginot, who identified Lola-I as a meta-loop-associated factor, majorly supported by Maria Cristina Gambetta’s guidance, as well as @ariannaravera_ our image analysis expert at @unil 👏
Together, we also uncovered hierarchical meta-loop formation
Happy to share our recent work on extremely long-range (up to 5.1 Mb 😯) #regulation of certain #genes in fly neurons and provides new insights into how they form (short thread below 👇).

Lola-I was, however, only required to form 1 meta-domain. This highlights a dichotomy between factors like Lola-I, which may control neuronal fate largely independently of inter-TAD interactions, & structural proteins like Cp190, which may enable ultra-long range gene regulation
We are happy to share our work on local #nucleosome dynamics integrating #temperature inputs into an #epigenetic switching mechanism.

Our study is online @MolecularCell! Compared to our preprint (see previous 🧵), we added additional evidence that transcription factor exchange is required to prolong transcriptional burst duration. Thanks reviewers for suggesting this experiment. 1/4 https://t.co/VFaTWDZjad
I'm not a zebrafish guy, I'm not an embryologist, I'm certainly not a microscopy guy. But how this 7 second video makes me feel is pretty much why I'm an academic and there's no other job I want to have. So that's my 2 cents to the current discourse.
