Wrapping up 12 weeks of Community Medicine in rural South India taught me that healthcare goes far beyond hospitals.
I saw how health illiteracy, limited access to basic tests, & overdependence on meds 💊 shape real lives.
💡 Solutions? Health camps, mobile testing & community counseling.
🌟 Beyond all this, medicine is about people, the gratitude in an old man’s eyes, the smile of a young woman, proof that empathy heals as much as treatment
🤝 Despite language or background, human connection transcends everything.

🩺 Attended an insightful Morbidity & Mortality Grand Rounds by @UMichMedicine focusing on the balance between ethics and law in end-of-life care and organ donation.
Key lessons that hit home:
• Empower families in decision making
• Never let a donor suffer for a recipient’s benefit
• Always honor a DNR: autonomy comes first
• Don’t use advanced interventions just to prolong life for organ procurement
Medicine isn’t only about saving lives, it’s about respecting them, even at the end. 💙

Just attended an incredible @UMIntMed grand rounds with Dr. Cynthia Sears on Cancer & the Microbiome 🧬🦠
Key takeaways:
• Gut rarely returns to baseline after antibiotics
• BFT+ B. fragilis & PKS+ strains linked to CRC
• Polyps and microbiota seem to co-evolve
• C. diff may drive biofilm invasion & carcinogenesis
Huge thanks to Dr. Sears for an insightful talk — exciting times for microbiome-immunotherapy research!
