Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision to transform barren land into productive economic zones is gaining strong momentum. Key progress is visible in Sargodha, Ali Wala, and Shah Garh shrimp farming projects, Punjab’s first major step toward a Blue Economy.

Sargodha: 118/126 ponds complete, 92% embankments, 116 tube wells, 365 acres cleared, infrastructure and warehouse (90%) progressing.

Ali Wala: 90% of 1,267 acres cleared, 642/737 ponds done, drainage 91%, 317 tube wells complete.

Shah Garh: Water 90%, electrification 95%, roads 97% complete.

This is Punjab’s first government-backed scientific aquaculture initiative. With suitable water conditions, 114 kg daily feed, and encouraging expert reports, the project shows strong potential for export-quality production. This initiative will revive barren lands, create jobs, and boost exports, positioning Punjab as a future aquaculture hub.
