• SMBC orders 100 Boeing 737 MAX
• Riyadh Air firms up 6 Airbus A350-1000s + 28 Boeing 787s (incl. -10s)
• Philippine Airlines confirms Boeing 787 Dreamliners
• British Airways picks Pratt & Whitney
GTF engines for up to 63 Airbus jets.

Defence in the Spotlight
Nearly half the exhibitors are defence-focused. New low-cost missiles, drones, and loyal wingman tech debuting (Anduril Thunder VTOL unveiled).

Multiple incidents making headlines this summer travel season. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Viral Boeing 777 Low Pass – Texas
A converted 777 (Qatar Cargo livery, Jet Tran LLC) flew under 25 feet over Horseshoe Bay airport. Wing nearly scraped the runway during a low approach. Viral video circulating. FAA investigating reckless flying. No crash.

2. Fatal Flamingo Air Crash, Bahamas
July 10: Cessna 402 crashed on approach, killing all 10 people on board, including local musicians and a DJ. Operator’s Air Operator Certificate suspended pending investigation.

3. K2 Cargo 737 Crash – Arabian Sea
Early July: Boeing 737-400 disappeared en route Sharjah → Karachi after navigation failure. Wreckage recovered. Search continues for 5 crew members.

4. Other Concerns:
• United flight diverted after engine vibrations + mysterious cabin odor.
• Multiple engine issues, ground incidents & diversions reported recently.

A converted Boeing 777 (Qatar Airways Cargo livery, operated by Jet Tran LLC on a pre-delivery test flight) flew dangerously low over Horseshoe Bay Resort Jet Center in Texas.
Flightradar24 data: under 25 feet off the ground, one wing nearly scraping the runway during a low turn.
