With UNICEF’s support, The Department of Law, University of Chattogram & the Law & Justice Division of Ministry of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs have signed an MoU to add the Children Act 2013 to the LL.M curriculum promoting restorative justice.
This morning, the MoU signing between the Department of Law, University of Chattogram & the SARC Project @MoLJPABD, with🤝@UNICEFBD took place at the Faculty Auditorium. The collaboration aims to equip graduates with expertise in child rights, restorative justice, and protection.

At all times, detention of children must be the very last resort and for the shortest possible time.

Exciting to see video-conferencing to process children’s cases. Children wait months, or years, for a court hearing often hundreds of kilometres away. Video conferences save time & money and transition to a more child-friendly legal system. Thanks @SwedeninBD and @EUinBangladesh

Law and Justice Division, MoLJPA own this structural changes and hopefully they will replicate this best practice to the other Courts in BD. Thanks to UNICEF BD.
