i quit upsc after 5 attempts, had one more and everyone was pushing me to give that last one. but i had already wasted atleast a year. shouldv'e quit after 4th. it was sunk cost fallacy which made me drag through the fifth.

generally i think building is better than giving. building in such a way that it solves problems and makes everyone better off, where incentives are aligned and solves the problem in perpetuity rather than feel good temporary giving is much better.

Everybody who ever lived had the same amount of time per day. If we're telling ourselves we don't have time for something, it simply means it's not important for us.

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

You’re the average of the 5 LLMs you talk to

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@Coffeeprenuer Hiring managers don’t know who they want, HRs don’t know what hiring manager is saying, there is no match between JDs and actual job, and people inflate what they’ve done to a crazy extent. But it’s a step forward

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

If something as tangibly destructive as nuclear weapons couldn’t be stopped from proliferating into tens of thousands of warheads, I don’t see AI development slowing down anytime soon.

Prisoner’s dilemma all the way to AGI.

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

The greatest trick AGI ever pulled was to convince everyone it doesn’t exist

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

Is it just me or is claude writing in a more and more convoluted manner?

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@kipupwidanshika Does it matter whose son it is, for tech hiring? 😄

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@kunalb11 Smartphone was the bicycle for the mind, AI adds an engine

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@kunalb11 You’re taking humans too seriously. Entropy doesn’t need us. If we disappeared right now, not even a speck of dust within the Sahara worth of change would happen to the universe or entropy.

Just wanted to do something interesting over the festival weekend.

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@indiainpixels Here's my attempt - concepts as interconnected cosmic spheres, shows evolution, cross cultural parallels, modern day applications, deep dives into specific concepts

Smartphone era : There’s an app for that
AI era : You don’t need an app for that

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@kunalb11 Sometimes there's even antipathy

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

They're basically saying no suicides within hostel premises, but you can do it outside and it won't be our problem 😅

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@paraschopra if ai does a thing long enough, will it gain experience beyond what's documented in it's training?

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

2> coming from self expression - fun, art, game, liking the process, need to do what I love to do, keep getting excited about possibilities
this is like drinking from a clear serene pond, makes you happy and content even if you don't achieve your goal

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

there are 2 types of drive/motivation
1> coming from trauma - revenge, jealousy, need to feel powerful, keep reliving painful past to get energised
this is like drinking salt water, makes you more thirsty and you die unhappy even after you achieve your goal

[sailesh bhupalam @Sailesh_UPSC]

@deepigoyal this was too close to jeff bezos letters :)
