Penjelasan orang Korea langsung kenapa Jeju itu beda banget sama pulau lain.

Bukan cuma “pulau kecil jadi semua orang kenal”. Dari berpuluh tahun lalu orang sana lebih sering dinikahkan sama warga satu desa yang sama. Anak lahir, dikawinin lagi sama anak desa itu juga. Ulang terus, jadi relasinya numpuk-numpuk.

Tetangga = ponakan = anak teman SMA = cucu sahabat kakek. Satu orang bisa nyambung ke banyak orang sekaligus.
Makanya orang pindahan, meski udah tinggal 3–4 generasi, tetep dianggap pendatang.

Yang lagi viral sekarang: polisi yang nutup ratusan laporan orang hilang itu dari marga lokal Jeju (Marga Boo) Terus pas dia mulai diperiksa, tiba-tiba beberapa jenazah yang lama ga ketemu muncul…

Nah makanya jadi muncul pertanyaan, ini emang kerjaan satu orang doang atau udah jadi sistem yang saling nutupin?

Ditambah lagi, status perempuan di Jeju secara tradisional lebih rendah. Kerja berat, tanggung jawab ekonomi besar, tapi posisi sosialnya rendah. Makanya banyak anak perempuan yang impiannya ya keluar dari pulau itu.
