The system doesn’t just allow psychopathy at the top, it selects for it. The traits that destroy trust in everyday life, manipulation, detachment, grandiosity are rebranded as “leadership” when they serve profit and power.
Without memory, each crisis feels new. Wars appear spontaneous. Injustices seem accidental. Without the link to their precedents, the public reacts as if waking into random storms, not the same weather system blowing through the centuries.
