@_InTheFilth@Alex_Ortodoxie@TheOtherPaul2 Abolishing the Patriarchate, installing lay control, and subordinating the Church to the Tsar was a structural cataclysm
Saying‘it remained Orthodox’ is no better than Catholics saying the papacy ‘withstood’ its own scandals during Renaissance lol
@_InTheFilth@Alex_Ortodoxie@TheOtherPaul2 Survival does not equal fidelity and had pretty big consequences and lead to the existence of the old believers via introduction of erastianism which is not patristic. Being able to absorb the changes and not formally schisming does not handle the fact that church went off rail
Henry VIII: Calls himself "head of the church," seizes the monasteries, directly subordinates church affairs to the state.
Sorin: That's schismatic!
Russian Tsars: Call themselves "head of the church," seize the monasteries, directly subordinate church affairs to the state.
Sorin: That's diffwent because Tsar wasnt a church office while English king was (which I made up from zero evidence); also Tsar was only a FIGURE-head (which I also made up and is not in the legislation).
I'd say they aren't sending their best but, well, they actually are 💀
This and more to be refuted at length in near future content.
Fyi, the book you're posting is terrible and mostly ignored by scholarship. It's just Maccoby's speculative fiction, not backed by any real evidence. See this scathing review: https://t.co/oZxHGa7gWO

@dmontetheno1@Rurouni_Phoenix Are you actually serious? That is a comment in a list of comments and it isn’t even a highly upvoted one.
Are you this desperate to show that AQ is a biased subreddit?
This tactic has been used by countless critics of the subreddit in order to make it look bad by screenshotting low quality posts and comments to act like that is representative of the whole. It is a bad tactic because it is like Christians seeing Muslim extremists commiting
@X10hanah@Rurouni_Phoenix So when all the evidence points against you and presented as is. Then they have agenda? A secular could point that out and you would accuse him of the same by that argument
@beckevangelista@JayDyer Lmao i challenged Nikolai to go through debate with me on icons and for https://t.co/Xke9LyFI8X bring up Alex strongest argument.
Guy rage quitted after pointing out Alex went on tangent.
They have that error, correct. We have a paradigm that can tank this error without breaking our ecclesiology, whereas the East completely collapses if error becomes common enough (hence the need to invent just-so stories after the fact).
"Judgment over" in the same way he attacks us for; our mere use of "private judgement" to discern the truth of Scripture is treated by your team as an assertion of authority in itself, rather than a passive discovery of truth. That is why Fr. Dcn. Ananias, in the clip I played, spoke even of "Sola Patristica," where it's illegitimate even to hold one's leaders to the standards of the fathers, because now you're using "private judgement" over them.
So, apply that to Ben, then; he is using his private reading of ancient and more recent conciliar documents to declare that Bishop X and Patriarch Y is heretical. IOW, he is inconsistent.
A summary of Cleave to Liquity and Alex Soyin's slop response:
- Cried about me being wacist.
- Consistently invented claims I never made.
- Refused to understand my very clear words that *plenty* of viewers understood the first go around.
- Coping about his sect's ecumenism by claiming *official on the ground policy* is just "non-binding ecumenical dialogue," and still acting like he (a layman) has the right to judge ecumenist bishops as wrong.
- Completely skipping my response to his Henry VIII claims and then complaining that I never addressed the issue of Henry declaring independence from Rome (which I literally discussed in the part they skipped).
- Coped about Tsarist Russia by repeating that the Patriarchs accepted Peter's reforms, when I myself pointed out how that means Cleave is accusing his own church of approving of schism, since he claimed Henry's actions as such created a new Church (and not, as he lied about, that he merely meant Henry's separation was schismatic; we all saw the clip).
I cannot wait to make the next response to this 😎 Ben has really just shown how intellectually incapable he is.
"chonk bad has been noted by Van Putten. If you want people to take your sub seriously.... "
I have a good relationship with Van Putten and he's a mod on our sub! He and other academics take it seriously. Cant believe some of what this guy writes.

Notice how they accuse @InspiringPhilos of grifting but will not accuse uthman ibn farooq? Its been several years and no one has been able to find a criminal proceeding or uthman documentary on the stabber that he say he will make.
@DrMaleekk Hey maleek, are you mentally retarded?
You doxxed him first, if you don't want people to " grift" in your terms then don't dox so people can't make credible threats by using personal information that you hand out.
Muslims need to stop pushing the whole "scientific miracle" junk, there was never any "miracles" in the text to begin with. People keep missing the point that these verses were made for the people of Mecca to show them god's creation not to show a "miracle".
Idiot when you say allah has a yad and we ask in what " apparent" way you claim bila kayf
So what is this " apparent " yad if you cannot define it to distinguish between one vs something else
https://t.co/5dOeFx7P4A
Bila kayf isn’t the same as saying “God works in mysterious way” it’s referring to modality we know God is one being, not three, we understand he has attributes.
This is not from clement, or from any reliable ecclesiastical writer whatsoever. There is no evidence for the existence of such a tradition, are there is not corroboration from any other heresiological data, orthodox or otherwise. Please like and share to prevent misinformation and disinformation of patristic sources.
@LibanG987 You mean similar to mohammed hijab scenario? he claimed he lost 30k and 3k pounds per month contract which is alot more for a part time charity worker in uk
Then loses case,Imagine using one ummah and other org that donate to oppressed Palestinians to lie and make dodgy law case
