That’s Nigel Farage celebrating a Reform UK plot to break election law - by having a US company secretly pay for three influential political polls that benefitted the party.

Earlier in the investigation, Reform’s Head of Policy James Orr and senior advisor Dan Jukes arranged for a Verbatim reporter to pay for the polls through a US company. Orr and Jukes believed the firm was run by the reporter’s American father.

Mr Farage was filmed by undercover reporters from @Verbatim_Media as part of a year-long investigation that Channel 4 News has thoroughly checked and verified.

This meeting took place in his Clacton constituency in July - when Mr Farage was fighting a by-election he called after separate allegations about his finances.

I appealed to the Secretary General of the Commonwealth to make representations to the government of Pakistan on behalf of @ImranKhanPTI .
I said “The Commonwealth Charter commits its members to democracy, human rights, the rule of law, good
governance and the separation of powers. Those principles have meaning only if the Commonwealth is prepared to defend them when they come under serious pressure within a member state.”
My original letter is in the next post. Here is the response I received.
As a former Minister for the Commonwealth, I recognise this for what it is- code for saying “we are doing absolutely nothing”.
It is, frankly, a disgrace.

Dropped my son off at Reading Festival today, but not before having a conversation I desperately wish I didn't have to have with my child.

He's visibly Brown. He's Muslim. And in the current climate, that can carry risks I never want him to have to think about.

So I had to talk to him about being aware of his surroundings. About trusting his instincts. About what to do if someone targets him because of how he looks or what they assume about him.

I hate this.

I hate that while other parents are worrying about whether their kids have enough money, sunscreen and phone battery, I'm having to talk to mine about the possibility of being targeted because he is visibly Brown.

He should just be going to a festival and enjoying being young.
