What happens to wildflower seed bombs when they accidentally get wet in storage? They germinate! We got a lot of work done yesterday, planted more wildflower seed bombs, got rid of many brambles and started a rhubarb patch.
This beautiful wasp spider (Argiope bruennichi) greeted us at the allotment @ChristsColl yesterday. Wasp spiders are beautifully coloured spiders that are spreading through the Southern parts of England from continental Europe.

Newest addition to the Hamilton household. Colour inheritance in cats is amazing and tortoiseshell cats are the example of this. The gene for colour is on their X choromosome and in each cell one of these is deactivated at random, resulting in unique patterns of black and orange.
