It's an example of what's not pixel art, you can't just lower the resolution and colour count of an image, change 10 pixels and call it pixel art.

When you are copying an irl model, the best way to learn is to try to draw only by looking at it. No mosaic tool in Photoshop or drawing over an existing image.
People have no respect for pixel art and just think "ah yes squares=good"
