Had an absolute blast tonight at @PortCity_Racing watching the @Xtreme_Outlaw Series and the @POWRi_Racing Micros!!! Major hats off to @shanestewartrcg and his whole crew for getting the track absolutely dialed in tonight. Always fun to watch some racing on a Thursday!
Deiten LaChance: “When Cord’s on the mound, you always have a chance to win. You can put the Yankees in front of me.”
Skip Johnson, shaking his head: “Geez!”
Great moment.
Christopher Bell met with the media for the 1st time since his crash at Michigan left him with a fractured left wrist.
- 63 G impact -- knocked his ear pieces out
- Has a modified wheel to accommodate cast
- goal is to run 400mi but Brandon Jones is on standby for relief.
Christopher Bell says he hit the wall so hard at Michigan, his ear piece popped out and he had no communication with his team.
Bell "knew my wrist was broke right away because I couldn't disconnect my shirt."
His foot "hurt really bad," but it was just bruised.
He also knew right away his head was OK because he didn't black out, remembered everything (including staring at the MICHIGAN USA sign right before slamming the wall) and passed the concussion tests in the care center.
"Super, super blessed I didn't hit my noggin."
@Rico_Abreu showing great sportsmanship by quietly pulling off the track and letting the race play out. Too often, competitors stop for NO REASON and end up ruining what could have been a great race.
Castiglione spoke with many coaches and players before hiring Johnson. But the one person who really convinced him that Johnson was the right guy for the job was Roger Clemens.
"Joe, there are a lot of great coaches around, but everybody talks about Skip and how good he is."
