Calling: UK uni employees. DM or email me at UoR answers w/ name ur uni:
1. Did your University permit men to self-identify into the category 'woman'? Has policy now been revoked?
2. What has ur uni said about FWS if anything and process of implementing it?
Pls RT
@WalleyVision@STILLTish@StoatlyL@ForWomenScot To be fair, Salford has absolutely zero credibility in this already. This tweet won't shift the dial much.
The sad thing is, I understand that it comes from a good place of wanting to be supportive and inclusive. But their inclusive harms women, especially Muslim women.
An excellent, clear and correct article on the practical implementation of the Supreme Court judgment in @ForWomenScot
Do retailers need to provide single-sex toilets and changing rooms? [IRWIN MITCHELL] https://t.co/34eHG4EBYk
How much longer @SalfordUni ? You've been breaking the law for years by abolishing our rightful single sex facilities. Last month you did a tweet addressing the needs of trans students and staff, but nothing for women. Are you doing anything at all?

I have an announcement to make:
We have officially WON our campaign at the University of East Anglia.
With confirmation from the university staff, Norwich’s UEA will no longer allow MALES to use female facilities.
This is an incredible victory. This change happened after we entered the grounds and did a banner drop, which was met with a very aggressive AntiFascist presence.
We want to thank @uniofeastanglia for finally prioritising female safety over inclusivity.
We also wish to thank all of our supporters and campaigners. It has been an incredible journey and, after just under a year, we have won.
Thank you all.
The law is the law. @SalfordUni continues to flout the law. They will not give any indication of when they will stop their unlawful behaviour, even though they have indicated that they realise they are behaving unlawfully.

So it will be no defence for anyone who is sued to plead that existing guidance was wrong / we were waiting for new guidance.
Any organisation (whether an employer, a union, a provider of services...) that was assuming sex means sex-as-changed-by-a-GRC now needs to review that.
Please would @SalfordUni reassure Dr Monika Kukolova that although the University will have to cease their unlawful policies around single sex spaces, there are no plans for genital checks. Bizarre claims by your staff. https://t.co/7MxrxGMIpC
A bunch of academics have signed a letter condemning the Supreme Court ruling
I spotted @leicesterucu Law Lecturer Kimberley Brayson on the list so thought I’d see what she’d said elsewhere, what I found made me feel sick

Another week gone by with @SalfordUni unlawfully discriminating against us and other students. Still no news. Still no idea of when they are going to look at this, never mind when the unlawful discrimination will cease.
We are waiting.
Some organisations are being misled by this line from Stonewall that a Supreme Court judgment is not law until a regulator produces guidance. This is shocking ignorance that exposes duty-bearers to significant liability. This judgment is not optional: it’s law.
@SalfordUni Why no concern for the women you've been discriminating against for years?
I hope you are soon in a position to let us know when you intend to stop unlawfully discriminating against us.
You're breaking the law.
Last week @SalfordUni said discrimination has no place on campus.
This week Salford continued to unlawfully discriminate against me and other women.
I suspect the same again next week.
No concern or apologies for their unlawful discrimination against us.

Important point re: last week's Supreme Court decision on the meaning of sex in equality law. Several outlets are saying ‘The Court ruled that trans women with a GRC can be excluded from single-sex spaces if it is proportionate to do so’. This is not accurate.
Today students go back to @SalfordUni where we are actively unlawfullyndiscriminated against. The law is now clear. Salford needs to put this at the top of its risk register and start to work to remove unlawful discrimination.
SU: what is your timescale to sort this?
@HeadBerry@SalfordUni There are lots of us, but we have been scared of victimisation. This legal judgment has given us a lot of confidence to actually tackle the University about their discrimination of us. We won't be silent any more.
