The best finance AI won't be judged by what it automates. It'll be judged by how fast you can verify it, how it handles exceptions, and how safely it fails.
In finance, more autonomy is not automatically a better product. The real value of AI is often in removing the investigation and preparation work: reading documents, matching imperfect records, identifying exceptions, and assembling the evidence needed to make a decision. But the consequential decisions still need clear ownership.
Some thoughts on separating useful AI from hype in finance and why "fully autonomous" is the wrong finish line to chase.
“Fully autonomous finance” sounds like the obvious end goal for AI.
We are not convinced it is.
In finance, more autonomy is not automatically a better product. The better goal is less manual work, faster verification, and clear ownership of every consequential decision.
