To that end, the United States will provide nearly $157 million in additional assistance to the people of Lebanon for essential needs such as food, shelter, water, protection, and sanitation to help those who have been displaced by the recent conflict. I was present in Beirut in 1982 when Israël invaded Lebanon. Neither #Hezbollah nor #Hamas existed then. It ended in the massacre of thousands of women children and horses in the Palestinian refugee camps. There were no men. They had sailed for Tunisia by international agreement, the safety of their families guaranteed by the United States. The occupation of Lebanon did not end until 2000 when the Lebanese Resistance drove them from all but the Sheba Farms district. An 18 year reign of terror. The Lebanese will never allow such an occupation to occur again. @MoatsTV
